The following is a Santo Daime prayer used for dream rituals. A friend of mine emailed it to me recently and I thought I'd share:

In the infinite circle of the Divine presence, which completely envelopes me, I affirm that:

There is only one presence here, it is Harmony, which creates a vibration in all hearts of joy and happiness. Whoever enters here will feel the vibration of the Divine Harmony.

There is only one presence here. It is Love. God is Love which envelopes all beings in a single feeling of unity. This sanctuary is filled with the presence of Love. In Love I live, I move and exist. Whoever enters here will feel the pure and holy presence of Love.

There is only one presence here, it is Truth. All that exists here all that is spoken here, all that is thought here is the expression of Truth. Whoever enters here, will feel the presence of Truth.

There is only one presence here, it is Justice. Justice reigns in this sancturary. Every act practiced here is inspired and ruled by Justice. Whoever enters here will feel the presence of Justice.

Through the esoteric symbol of the Divine Wings, I am in harmonius vibration with the universal currents of Wisdom, Power, and Joy. The presence of Divine Joy is deeply felt by all those who enter here.

In the perfect communion between my lower self and my Higher Self, which is God in me, I consecrate this sancturay to the perfect expression of all Divine qualities, which are in me and in all beings.

The vibration of my thoughts are the forces of God in me, which are stored here and are hence radiated to all beings, thus all creating a center of giving and receiving of all that is Good, Joyful and Prosperous.

why don't people pray in ordinary language ?
do we think god likes flowery language ?
i don't know, i just prefer a more basic, simple approach, talk of vibrations and divine wings, etc. just sounds so preachy like the crap i was force-fed by the nuns in my catholic grade school.

I think the prayer is less of a utterance to some separate God, and more of a catalyst for a revealing experience.

The difference between, say, Catholicism and something like Santo Daime is duality and separation in my opinion. Catholics bow down to a separated Creator (tm) while an ayahuascaro realizes and affirms the universal God within.

In the perfect communion between my lower self and my Higher Self, which is God in me, I consecrate this sancturay to the perfect expression of all Divine qualities, which are in me and in all beings.

I think flowery language helps us simple animals express complexity and also helps put people in a conducive state of mind during a ritual.

I have always tried to do prayers that move my reality towards GOD or "IT". Language can and will change ones reality. Chanting is a good example of this. What works for one person may not work for others.

I feel so sorry for those nuns...
