Someone on here. I forget who now. Told me a good idea might be rolling a wet cake in dry verm. Anyways I did this for my invitro jars and some of them have about 50 pins on them. I am pretty content. I tried one without the verm. I know cakes can vary but it does'nt seem to have as many as the others. Its pinning mostly from the little pile of verm I sat it on inside the jar.

That one mushroom I shot from several angles takes up an enormous amount of that jar.

My God, that's a big-ass shroom!

Dunked mine after first flush about this time last week, still waiting on pins. Next time, I might try rolling 'em in verm myself.

Lookin' Good!

Oh, the verm was dry?

Wonder how moist verm would do?

it doesn't stick very well at all. better off taking a wet cake and 'burrying' it in dry verm. then when you pull it out there will be thin layer of verm covering the whole cake. with wet verm. it's already 'clumpy' and too 'heavy' to form an adhesive bond to the cake with only water as the 'glue'. you can mist down the coated cake afterwards also. :-)

Just roll the wet cake in dry verm and it sticks everywhere just minimize your finger contact.

Excellent invitro growing JackB.

That shroom looks yummy.

I haven't had a decent shroom-trip to eat for over 7 months, i'd love to just have a few fat cubies to finally trip from.. i got snafood with the strain someone gave me, pesa, i knocked up my brf jars over 2 months ago and theyre still not colonized, and all my other projects will not fruit. It's totally frustrating. I got snafood with the strain, pesa, i had a bad feeling about the strain from the get-go.. the guy that gave me the culture told me they fruit small mushrooms and a lot of aborts (as if that was desireable) - so i have to start all over again and this time i'm going to try a treasure coast strain.. the waiting is eating away at me.
Angels layed him away,

Layed him six feet under, the clay,

Buy a syringe from someone reputable. There is a local store here called "Crosstown Traffic" He has a site too, check it out. Its more expensive than ordering from the internet but he has good spores.

Watch your Words Jack B -
Unless you're using disinformation, you just
told the world what town you live in....

FYI-

From my experiences, rolling invitro cakes in verm
(wet or dry) has always resulted in highter contam
rates, especially after 2nd flush.

Besides, 50 pins won't help you invitro - just more
little guys to abort and possibly bring on an infection.

Rolling in verm is a trick I learned from Fahtster,
a man who consistently got the biggest yeilds from
a wacky-big PF cake setup - had it down to an art
form really, but he has since moved on to casings,
which was a surprise to none.

It works wonders w/ a terrarium setup, but be careful
when using invitro.

Above all else, use what works best for you, but
verm was a perpetual thorn in my invitro side
when I tried it. Now I rinse all the verm off my
cakes, dunk, bleach dip, and return to new (sterile) jar.

Cleanjar-

I've got TC in the incubator now. The print was a
year old, and it's taking forever to colonize my guys.
I knocked 'em up on the 29 of January, so far only
two out of 16 are even 1/2 the way there - four
have gone to the dark (green) side.

Not the strain, just the age of the print IMO,
looking forward to getting some fresher prints
for the library when these fruit...

:-)
