Nice job. I've found the more ingredients in a compost mix, the better. Complex substrates do better than single ingredient substrates. In my mixes I use store bought compost, store bought composted cow manure, coir, coffee grinds, verm, and sometimes seaweed, when I have energy to go get it at low tide.

The cambos usually grow very rhizo ,in jars as well as in bags ,this is a rather small bag as in the past big bags contam more easily ,so i make usually 4 or 5 bags out of one bag which gives me better results
the exact mix (yes ,this time i made even notes !!! :-)...
1 part = a full 1 kilo honey jar
so
16 parts verm
3.5 parts coffeegrounds
4 parts cottonseedhulls mix (catlitter)
4 teaspoons of maerl ,that is a marinal chalk used in europe in bio-gardening and full of minerals and trace elements
8 tsps of beepollen
8 teaspoons of instant coffee
water as needed to make a moist mix
they were started normally in the incubationroom but for some reason it stays too cold in there and when the pinheads appeared i moved them to a mj growroom and put in the shade of the pots
the light in the growroom was a 400 watt hps lamp. so a bit of both worlds ,
i'll try to post a pic of the result
Rodger ,it's partly because of your postings and someone who started using beepollen ,and then the coffeeproject that brought me to this

in the above recipe , what would be a good replacement qua volume and nutrients to replace the coffeegrounds ?

Are you going to soak between this flush and the next? How do you do that with a bag?

Did you turn the bag as would a jar upside down?

Great pix btw. Them are some bigguns!

i tried to dunk with coffee ,it ain't easy to keep the bags open ,i made something of a piece of wire to keep it open while pouring
i didn't turn them upside down ,partly because they are pinning so fast

So you pour in dilute coffee, let it sit for 12 hrs or so, and then pour out and reseal?

yes ,but no resealing been used
the bags fold together pretty much
after the water's back out
so humidity stays rather high
but it could be done easily
the sealing i mean
