hello its my forst grow log hi i got some salvia cuttings from Hidra303 2 weeks ago and its the first thing im growing !! got a mix of 1/4 perlite 1/4 verm and 1/2 potting soil my setup is a plastic storing container whit a plastic foil over it to keep humidity its at 90% and about 70-75F got a 25 grolux fluro on top about 2 inches above the foil in 2 weeks i played whit the settings ...got shit whit my fluro and now 24/24 light ...as hip said to me for green plant its good i got the cuttings at about 12 cm and in 2 weeks whit a transplantation its about 18 cm now!!! some leaves are dark on the edge....but the other parts of the plant looks good and healty ill try to show you some pictures but i dont have any kodak  im a french dude writing my posts in english some of my expressions or sentences may not be all correct :P thanks for your comprehension | ||

ive never seen anyone kill a plant by "pinching" it.. might cause weird growth..or slow growth.. but I doubt it can kill it... did you ever killed a plant by topping it? music is the answer..... | ||

All i heard was snip the top, if the part you snip is the main stem, as you know its hollow, and can rot all the way down to the base of the plant. Usually nodes would keep it in check, but not every time. Topping maybe you only cut the leaves/growing tip. That case it sould be fine. im talking about chopping the top of the main stem...who produce more bushy plant... if they died after....its because of rotting.. not because you cutted the top.. when done properly..with clean scissor/knife..everything should be fine peace music is the answer..... | ||

It can look like rottting, but the stem turns black/brown and shrivels up so its more like drying out. No actually rotting in the normal sense, yep it can be ok, thats why i said can kill. I trick i use is to break a clean tooth pick, and stick that in the hole, that usually seals it up fine for me. I almost forgot if you are growing it in low humidity there is less chance of the "rotting", but in domes or green houses with high, it will happen 80% of the time. I have a super high humidity environnement.. never had that problem.... and I did it a shitload of time.. anyways.. im just talking with my past experience.. maybe I was just lucky...or you were just unlucky... peace music is the answer..... | ||

here we are one week later  and no rotting hehe the place i pinched the tops are beginning to grow :P got two baby branches about 1 cm long on each of my plants  and the two parts who were cut are in water and i can see small roots beginning to gros  someone offer me one digicam whit macro zoom 100$cdn...but don't have it...  can't wait to post pictures! here we go this week whit a new idea ..i need more light and a friend proposed to me to use this kind of lights less space...low energy cost ...good light power for the size ...not as much heat...dont need the ballasts that cost a lot and make heat...easy to work whit any comments??? never tried those but they seems to be a very good idea   im a french dude writing my posts in english some of my expressions or sentences may not be all correct :P thanks for your comprehension | ||

so i bought my new lighting system 3 neon bulbs 26W each a 18$can package there one full spectrum and 2 softer whites much better than my 24inch grolux 20W fluro... my bigger plant is about 1.5 feet high whit 25 leaves ..from 1 inch long to 6-7 inch long and the other got about 20 damn...i have to find a digicam lol i wanna post some pictures soon!  im a french dude writing my posts in english some of my expressions or sentences may not be all correct :P thanks for your comprehension |
