First of all..

It's he, who did it.

The FOAF likes to experiment..
Not too many people stray away from the text books. its people like my FOAF who come up with these great new teks.

The cakes now have 100% surface area for the fruit to grow from.

but they simply will not grow from everywhere,
like i tree,
it does not use every branch to grow fruits from,

will be interesting to see the next flush

Cool idea. Hell, if you wanted to bother with taking the verm out of the bottom you could even use the chamber for dunking. Just clean out the jar, fill it with water, and lower the cakes in without taking them off the wire. With all those cakes I wonder if you even need that verm in there to maintain humidity?

We'll see the next flush if its growing every direction or not.
--------------------
I really like your dunking idea.

Good idea.
But it may be a bit hard keeping thoes suckers down without the wire slicing through them like a knife...

--------------------
The humidity is much higher now but these cakes have not been dunked.

- The vermiculite was from the pf verm barriers
- Recycle, reuse, reduce?
Now that I think of it.. All materials put into the chamber were recycled.

LOL Slick

very cool billybob, just an idea, but what if you were to put a metal washer above and below each cake, just hold those in place with a knot in the wire, not only would it better support the cake, all you would have to do put a heavy weight on the bottom to dunk, the washers would hold the cakes down, or just put one at the top so they can only float so high up when dunking. very neat idea billybob, i'm hope your FOAF has fun with his experiments.

update..

yeah the FOAF is a dj and has 4 1200 mk2's + denons in the setup.. spins breaks/dnb

The FOAF also harvested a avg. of 25 wet grams a cake today.

The humidity is so high and the bottom layer is so wet that the FOAF decided to not dunk and just go with it.
