in this case it's appropriate as that's a nice photo lay-out i'll add it to our invitro section but yeah, normally that's how we tag a thread so we don't want just anybody doing it. still, we do miss stuff so if you see something you think is archive worthy feel free to point it out to us. thx
Namaste

Nice Mycos eleusis! Few questions... Were the jars exposed to 24 hr light from innoculation? Was any type of fruiting chamber setup to maintain humidity once cakes were removed from jars? Prints can be made with invitro fruits by removing them from the jars before the caps often, correct? With invitro, it seems the overall fruiting process is accelerated since the pins often form while colonizitation is taking place. Great pics! Strangeland Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

"Were the jars exposed to 24 hr light from innoculation?" Yep "Was any type of fruiting chamber setup to maintain humidity once cakes were removed from jars?" Nope. Invitro all the way. I just took the glass jar off to grab the pics, then put it back on right after. Invitro jars hold moisture in really well, especially if you do at least a 12-Hour dunk. "Prints can be made with invitro fruits by removing them from the jars before the caps often, correct?" Depends on what direction they end up pointing while they grow in the jar. If the cake has shrunk enough, and a shroom grows through and over the top of it at the right angle, the cap can manage to open out well enough to use it to print. "With invitro, it seems the overall fruiting process is accelerated since the pins often form while colonizitation is taking place." In a way, yes. But you know, IME, I've never seen a pin form in any jar that wasn't 100% colonized...but I'd say that Invitro takes a bit longer, most often when the first flush is starting and squeezing itself through against the glass. When the cakes shrink, they're more free to move and grow faster. |
