Hey hippy, I was wondering if your were the one that posted to "Neglect TEK" on the fanaticus websight, if so, it really, really intrigued me. If you have any pictures of the results of the neglect TEK, I sure would love to see them here If no pics, I was wondering what your yields were (dry) per 1/2 pint jar?

Thanks!!

yes, i am that same hippie3 that you read on pf's site. he's got a link there to this website, as well.
i got about 5-6 dry grams per cake often, sometimes a bit less, sometimes a little more.
there's are several pics scattered in the archives under invitro/neglect teks,
here's a few.

Question:

I noticed some half pint cakes in quart jars, as well as some left in half pint jars. Which way is the best to go...

Let the mycelium grow until cake is fully colonized and place in a quart jar to allow more room? Or allow them to grow smushed in a 1/2 Pint Jars?

I personally am not interested in how pretty the majority look like, just how much it yields and how much psychadelic "MAGIC" they hold. Yet I will definatelly send a few cakes to a terrarium because I LOVE my fresh, pretty, tasty shroomies!!

either way works well, so decide based on your personal needs/situation.
the quarts are better if you want prints, however.

Those invitro mushrooms look scary, man. I mean, once they're dried and ground up, no one would be the wiser, but they look like some kinda weird French gourmet food that you wouldn't eat if they told you what it was. Ha! Is there a society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Mushrooms?

Just foolin' Hip; don't take offense. I'll probably try it one time, just to say I did.

lol
they may look a bit malformed,
but rest assured they are just as good as their normal brethren.
as for cruelty, lol, if it ain't cruel to eat them i reckon it ain't cruel to grow them funny.

On my last batch of EQ's done chronic tek I dunked before birthing them into quart jars. The average yield per cake first flush was 4.2 grams. I got 51 grams dried mushies off 12 cakes in 31 days!

There are a lot of different ways to grow mushrooms but I doubt I will do cakes any other way besides chronic style...(unless maybe I win one of those grow pods) "hey hippie you gonna give away another one of those fancy grow pods, they look so cool"

What is the advantage to growing cakes using the Chronic tek? Not sure I understand the benefits as opposed to a Rubbermaid terrarium. Looks to me like more parts and pieces.

one advantage is the isolation of each cake, so contams can't spread.

I'd think another advantage is the stealth factor. From my understanding, you can use the Chronic Tek and grow in a locked foot locker.
(nosey kids over here, hehe) As long as you got your temps right and a light source, you should be ok, I think.
