"The Tale of blue honey

It's summer.
The sun is high up and blazing hot.
The little magic mushrooms that used to appear
in the cow pastures down the road have dried up and gone away.

For that matter so has your grass connection,
and all that you're left with is sandpaper leaf
that leaves a static edge on your head.

The mellow highs of the rainy season
are now just so many jasmine-of-your-mind memories.
Dreams from another time.

The butterfly mushroom that opened the doors of perception
in the springtime are but lost keys in the heat of summer.

You tried drying the little fungi,
but the magic is lost in the process,
and freezing turns them to mush.

What to do?

The answer comes to us born on the w7inds of time.
Kosmic, karmic trade winds from an acent Mayan past.

To save the magic, all one needs to do is immerse those morsels
in raw honey and stash them in a cool, shady place,
and let osmosis do its thing.

The honey will first turn amber,
then a deep blue-black color
indicating that the honey has become psychoactive.

At this point it is time to strain out the mushrooms from the honey.
Use the mushrooms to make a psychedelic snack,
And store the honey in a tightly capped glass jar.

The honey has now taken on the magic,
and proprly stored will retain it for several months.

Come summer when the mushrooms have
disppeared from the field, it dosn't matter.

There, in the cupboard, is the honey pot,
full to the brim with "Blue Honey"
Shades of Pooh Bear and Van Morrison.

A couple of teaspoons in your tea or coffee,
and one or two to sweeten your cinnamon toast,
and its time to keep an appointment with God."

OK. I found this in My search for info on blue honey. Unfortunately it's pretty much all I could find. The only other thing I can gather is conflicting information about wether or not to dry the shrooms first. As You can see above the Author spoke about losing magic while drying, which leads Me to believe that they should be inserted while fresh, but apparently honey and water don't store well together. Also, how many little buddies would You need to use to make the honey potent enough that a spoonful or 2 would take You to the other place? Has anyone here had any experience with this seemingly delicious psychoactive treat? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Basically it can be done with dry or fresh shrooms. If you use fresh fruits you will just have to pour off the water that is pulled from the shrooms as it accumulates. According to all I've read there is no noticable difference in potency one way or the other.

One of my friends always put his into a honey container, which worked out really well. After a few days the water would leak out and the shrooms would taste like chewy honey candy... Good stuff. Also, they didn't seem to lose out on potency this way.

I wish someone would give us a precise explanation of this Blue Honey storage method. There seems to be some differences. Some people say it's ok to put the shrooms in the honey wet, others say dry first. Some say refrigerate, other say no problem. Please someone provide a concise method.

I can only tell you what I have read, from the frozen mycotopia board. It said put fresh shrooms in the honey and the moisture from the shrooms will seperate out...I gather you need to pour it off. Then you just wait, and eventually the honey will absorb the psilocybin, and you will wind up with blue colored honey that you can put in tea or eat with a spoon. The info said that the shrooms can be extracted after the honey turns blue; they're still good, but much of the psilocybin has leached into the honey.

That's the best I can do, but someone will post their experience, I bet.

I've nothing but good things to say about honey. I've been building up a jar using just aborts. Squeeze them with a paper towel to get rid of the excess water them drop them in the jar. Use the minimum honey needed to cover them. Just the top turns blue where the psilly is oxydizing. The rest goes dark amber. No need to pour off the water. The honey gets a bit diluted is all. After a while (say 1/2") you hardly need to add any honey at all. I just add a touch now and then cause it seems to act as a preservative to keep the shrooms from rotting. The amnazing thing is the volume that builds up just from aborts.

Test 1.. 2 Teaspoons.. good
Test 2.. 4 heaping teaspoons... WOW!

Will try with full grown shrooms next.

Will fanning for a few days not remove some of the potency? My friend, she just picks them and cleans them off and drops them right in the jar. Also, is it ok if the msuhrooms break the surface of the honey and turn blue? Its really really hard keeping a good mushroom down, you know...

Or so my friend would have me believe ;)

btw, this process takes several months.
let the water rise, pour it off and use it to sweeten your tea, there's magic in it.
use freshies for blue honey.
stuff in as many as you can, over time, straining off the water every few weeks.

You can get it pretty blue; The problem is that the color doesn't seem to last very long.
Honey is best used to preserve dried, IMO. It creates a nearly oxygen-free environment, if you freeze the goo it is about as good of preservation as normal people are going to be able to get. Zero bluing, which is a good thing of course.

You can trash a lot of fresh fruits trying for the blue honey

My attempt at that magical elf treat started by trying to get the most blue-rich material possible. That meant throwing fresh fruits in the freezer and giving them the Quik Chop
