Here are some pics of jars that are fruiting invitro. Everything seems to go just right. The jars have a hole the size of a pencil, stuffed with Polifill. There is a filterdisk between the lids as well. Substrate is 50/50 millet/verm. Quite cool! What a beautiful sight :-). I feel like tripping tonight!

All of them

Hey Philemon,

I will send you a print if you like! They are very easy to grow. I have done nothing special to get them to fruit in the jar. They are pinning just because there is 50% vermiculite in the substrate. And because I was able to keep things sterile of course.

You will like them. Just PM me your save addy. You will have them in about a week :-). That is if you are able to receive a print.
cheers!
Curry

I would disagree. I believe they are pinning so well because you were lucky/skillfull enough get a dominant substrain that will fruit invitro. Those are rare. I've found less than ten percent of the substrains I isolate will fruit invitro. I'd strongly suggest you clone those babies to make sure you can keep it going. Those are really cool! Congrats!

Inoculation was 09-20-2004. They have had normal daylight since day 1.

This is the first flush...

Maybe they like millet a lot... It seems almost every multispore jar I make this way pins abundantly. If I leaf it it fruits invitro. Mexican Palenque is a great strain. I am just drinking my thee now

Boy will it be difficult to get the shrooms out when it's time for harvest! The jars aren't wide mouth. Good thing though I don't have to work sterile when harvesting :-). Unless I get a big one... then I will be cloning indeed Rodger :-)

Thanks, but I'm good.

Just reach in with a fork and dig the mushrooms out. Don't worry about tearing up the myc. After you get them out, dunk the 'remains' for 24 hours. They'll fruit again.

Or, stick the whole jar in the refrigerator, then bring out when you're 'hungry' for freshies.

That's not a bad idea to do with one jar. The others however are gonna be next to impossible to get out without tearing up mushrooms a little. I think I am gonna use the crumbled, left over, cakes for a casing if they are crumbled too much....
