saw this method at sroomery
http://www.ncbe.reading.ac.uk/NCBE/MATERIALS/MICRO BIOLOGY/oyster.html
and followed it,
its cool and easy

the last 2 pics are only grain oat left without lids in terrar.,

do they form bigger caps when there is big air exchange, cause these never become like the ones in the woods?
or the main factor is the substrate?

I first published this information in the #01 TMC April 1, 1984 Issue. Must be some TMC readers over at the shroomery. Also, Never use colored or scented toilet paper. To get larger mushrooms, with a rope or cord, tie 4 or 5 rolls together to cause a larger surface area and mass of substrate. You can also add some "wheat bran" and get bigger ones (20% dry weight). Also a good way to get rid of unwanted Newspaper. Just remember to not use the colored pages. Many of these inks are said to still contain "lead"...slp/fmrc

all done in the open,
well,between 2 alcohol lamps,if that realy helps?
used a jar like those to fill the hole up to the top after the inner hard part was removed,
it took some time before the roll cooled down,
than jently couse it gets thick or shrinks put in bag,
so cool couse if dont destroy the roll i could see the myc. penetrate layer by layer,

after full colonization the plastic removed and put in terar.

No, They are "Mycorrhiza", just like Amanita. The mycelium hooks up with the small root tips of specific trees or plants. There has been some limited success using tomato plants. Outside wild beds are easy to establish by just moving around clumps of mycelium. slp/fmrc
