I'd suggest you wrap them up in foil or something for the first week or so. "He blesses the boys, as they stand in line, The smell of gun grease-their bayonets they shine. He’s there to help them all that he can. To make them feel wanted, He’s a good holy man." The Animals

Lookin good Sparky. I didn't use foil on mine, but the top layer was straw. Good luck with this, I hope it works out for you!
Not a trained professional. Please try this at home.

Well ya, I put so much spawn in this, like 1 to 1 spawn to compost, I want the top to colonize as fast as possible. Once, just once I want some straw to work out, just once. lol

Empty packs would make a fine casing, just ensure you pasturize and get mostiure content right before casing with it. I might take out all the foil and all the cellophanes before using though. I don't care if I'm right or wrong, for those are just words. What really matters is why I am right, or, why I am wrong. That, is what learning is all about.

The camera has been a disagreeable bitch so updates have been scetchy but today the bitch came back to life at least for a while. here's the first pins.....
The growth started going so fast I was amazed. The colendars started pinning heavily on the sides (inside the basket) I took the substrate out of the colendars and set them right on the plates that were under them.
this was about a third of the crop on this pie, really, more and more just kept coming. this is where the camera went on vacation so I dont have any shots of that, RATS !! Today when digital bitch came back to life I got these shots. Post harvest.
The corn pan in the middle is starting to come on now, it's really wierd. It has some big fat mutants that only get 2 inches tall , and the others are small, very small and skinny. The mini LB's made the corn pan look like a waste of time. Clones were started from a LB with high hopes...
Well,,I guess I'll do this again .....now second flush soon to come MEAT ROX !!

looks great, now dunk it for a great 2nd flush. what kind of compost mix did you use btw ? this really is a mini-laundry basket variant as per visions, a colander is in effect a small laundry-basket-like environment so we'll tack all this on as an addendum to that tek. archive material to LB teks
