of the seven milk dunked, six are double end cased and one is in a quart jar the last, fourth flush, from all seven was meager but they had all been without a dunk for the last three flushes so,...im not sure of any data that would be useful, but if they flush nice, i can surely snap a couple of photos |

that would be great, any data on flush weights, etc would also be good so i can archive it all under milk dunking. |

well.. the milk dunking went ok not much weight though out of 6 cakes that were milk dunked post 4th flush, only got 2g dry of some spindly shrooms the good news is that they seem more contam resistent after a milk dunk, weird i thought they would be more prone to contam after a milk dunk i went to some shows, particle and moe two days worth, so no fanning for two days when i got home i had green everywhere, except the milk dunked cakes. so the light weight is prolly just due to 5th flush, but possible contam control seems great also took 3 1/2 weeks to get the flush i don't know if that is because of old cakes or the milk dunk 3 1/2 weeks is way to long to keep a terrarium occupied for only 2g i will try the milk dunk again on some fresher cakes hehe.. just PC'd a dozen quarts of grain and 3 dozen 1/2 pints |

sounds like those cakes were just about played out, still 2g's is better than zero i guess. thx for the update, i really appreciate it as i'm not doing cakes right now so i can't collect any data myself. |

By HomerJ (Homerj) on Thursday, January 23, 2003 - 12:52 am: Edit Hip, I just dunked 10 half pint cakes for 24 hours (plain water) and got the before and after weights for ya. I know there was another thread for this but I can't find it. Here you go: average pre-dunk - 48.8g average post-dunk - 73.7g!!! I knew the cakes felt light, but damn, 25g of water per cake. I can't wait to see the next flush. |
