I was wondering if it is possible to clone in honey water. or if not clone(using actual tissue), then could one possibly take a small portion of mycelium from a cake, drop it in a sterlized honey/h2o solution? i apologize if this or simliar questions have been ansered before. I have not seen any in the recent posts (last month or so). Any thoughts are welcome, but simple yes/no answers with no explinations are fine if no one has the time. Thanks, TimothyLeary |

It's OK. It's a good question. The way I do it is to take a tissue sample from the stipe and blend it per 9er Tek. Then I shoot jars of liquid substrate, grow it out 3 days at 87*F in an incubator, and use the liquid inoculum to shoot jars. The liquid inoculum can be stored for up to one year in the fridge. Let's think about this: If you could use a piece of mycelium in honey water, every jar can make a whole bach of honey water without compromising its fruiting at all. One batch of honey water per jar, ten jars in one syringe, one syringe would last you along time. I think i should call it the super poor man's tek. Unless there is a tek like it? if not, i am starting experiments. |

Also, you can add up to 5ml Hydrogen Peroxide AFTER sterilizing the honey water to ward off any contaminants that may be lurking around. Shroom Glossary
