AYAHUASCA HCI EXTRACTION MATERIALS Hydrochloric Acid ="Muriatic Acid" Distilled Water 1 GALLON **GLASS WARE** 2 Vessels each at least 500 ml "2 CUPS" 2 Pyrex Backing Dish's for evaporation Filter material ="Coffee filters, chess cloth, cotton t shirt" Herbs to be extracted "The list is rather varied" and addressed later on... For starters there are some precautionary notes to go over, Glass or ceramic are the only materials that can be used for this procedure . The reason for this is the HCI " HYDOCHLORIC ACID " . It has the ability to leach metals , another words it can pull some of the different metal compounds out of metal cooking pots or utensils . In doing this you would wind up with heavy metal poisoning which is far from good , so its glass or ceramic and nothing else to touch the brew . The HCI is used to change the PH of the water to 4.5 to 5 on the acidic range of the scale . This is necessary for a good extraction to happen as it helps to rupture the cell membranes of the plant material . It is also considered a strong acid and it releases protons very readily which is what actually lowers the PH of the water and in using HCI instead of an ascorbic acid you wind up with chloride ion instead of acorbate ion which is what you would get from using an organic acid such as Ascorbic acid "Vitamin C" or Acetic acid "Vinegar". Also by using the HCI extraction method the active alkaloids are being converted into they’re much more potent Salt forms which are on the average about 2 times as potent as the Acetate , Citrate or ascorbate compounds Acetate="Vinegar" Citrate="Citrus" or Ascorbate="Vitamin C" Acids. Also HCI does not dissolve fats oil's and waxes like the other organic acids tend to as well as the citrus Acids have there own fats and oils in them . Because of this the body load is reduced greatly to the point that many people report having very little to no body load the purge is gone and the diarrhea is gone as well . It is believed that this is because of the reduced fats and oils as well as other solids found in the HCI method in comparison to other methods . So the better the final extraction is filtered the less the body load gets . The standard method of filtration is cold decantation , which is simply putting the extraction fluids in the refrigerator until cold about 38 deg ferinheight . Once at this point the liquids are slowly decanted off or simply poured slowly as to not pour off any of the plant material . This method works because as the liquid cools its kinetic energy is reduced so the solids contained in it sink to the bottom of jar as there is less energy to suspend them in the liquid . Or the brew can be filtered thru a cloth filter of some sort such as a coffee filter cheesecloth or a cotton t-shirt . But by all means the best filtration method is with vacuum filtration . Vacuum filtration is done with some basic glassware a Buckner funnel and a vacuum source . The glass collection vessel is filter flask basically a normal flask with a side arm . I believe there called a tourete . The Buckner funnel is placed into the top of the flask and vacuum applied to the arm of the side of the flask . This pulls all the liquid through the Buckner funnel and leaves you with an almost pure extraction . The glass will cost about $50.00 US and is rather simple to find . Embay is a great source for lab glass , and glass is something that has many different uses for most of us that are willing to do basic extractions , so it’s well worth the investment. Now for the extraction it’s pretty simple and straightforward . Place 250ml of the distilled water into each of your extraction vessels be they beakers flasks or simple Pyrex cooking pots. Now you need to add 10 to 15 drops of the hydrochloric acid to the water . So long as you used distilled water this will bring your PH down to 4.5 to 5 so there is no real need to check with paper or a meter . If you used tap water or well water that is considered hard you may need to use up to 20 drops of acid but no more then that and then it is recommended to check your PH level. So for simplicities sake just spend the 90 cents on a gallon of distilled water at the grocery store. So now that the water is in and adjusted its time to add the herbs to be extracted . The herbs should have been prepared ahead of time and shredded and ground as fine as possible . Depending on what plant materials you are using you may need to start with double the volume of water which also has double the amount of HCI acid added to it to maintain proper PH of 4.5 to 5 and also a larger container to accommodate the increased volume . Once all of this has been addressed its time to take it to the heat and begin your first series of simmer runs . The idea is to bring your materials to a slow simmer and then a rolling boil and not a heavy fast rolling boil. Maintain this slow boil for at least 30 minutes to an hour some chose to go longer but with this method it really isn’t needed as the HCI is extremely efficient in its own right . Once the brews have cooked for the allotted amount of time , its time to pour off the liquids into their evaporation dishes and add new PH adjusted water to the plant materials and run them through for another 30 minutes or so . Again filter off all the liquid into the proper dishes for evaporation and once again add new PH adjusted water to the plant materials and give them there last good simmering . If the second extraction still had a decent amount of color in it then extend this simmer for about 30 minutes longer then the others just to be sure that all the important alkaloids have been extracted . Now for the evaporation process you want to heat the oven to 150 deg F . A note of caution here if you try to speed things up by increasing temperature you will most likely burn the extract and ruin the entire process by Turing the extraction into a nitrate by burning it. Once it has been burned it is wasted as there is no recovery from this point . Also this is the point that you will be basifying the HCI acid by the very simple process of evaporation . HCI bonds very strongley to water and once all the water has evaporated the HCI acid becomes HCI gas and disapates very fast just before this process is complete, if you smell it you will you will truly think you just burned your nose hairs out of you sinus cavity. The reason for this is the PH of the extract is at about a 2 before the HCI gas precipitates out . There is no need to add baking soda to try and basify the brew it does it all by it’s self which is one of the other great features of this method. Once you have this finely dried powder titrate it "chop" it into a finer powder . If it won’t powder put it back into the oven to dry for a little longer and still at 150 deg Farenhight . Once it is a nice dry powder it can be gel capped with your maoi extract in one gel cap and dmt extract into another gel cap . But the preferred way of ingesting it is to heat about a half cup of water and reconstitute the powder back into a liquid and enjoy . The Preferred way is to drink the MAOI extract first and then when about half done with it begin to drink to dmt portion of the brew . Some people prefer to drink them both a once and some people prefer to mix the to together in as small a volume of liquid as possible and suck them back as fast as possible. The last is not highly recommended as most people purge and loss all chances for effect it is most widely recommended to sip the brews spread out over an hour or so but as short as a half an hour less not being recommended... May the spirits guide you to a place of peace and knowledge.... Now as for the most common plant teachers used here is a short list of them and the average amounts that are most commonly used for Ayahuasca brews.. MAOI Banisteriopsis Caapi Vine of the soul 25-40 grams bark= 2 OZ chopped root= or 1 piece of root 1 foot long 1 inch thick Peganum Harmala =Syrian Rue the average dose 3 to grams but some go as high as 6 but as little as 2.5 is all that is needed Psychotria viridis 20 to 30 grams is about average. Diplopterys cabrerana average is 10 to 15 grams is usually effective. These are just some of the more common plants used in preparation’s there are many more that can be used and that are used . And by no means is this list all-inclusive. There are many different strengths of herbs out there and each source is usually different . Be sure to by enough so a proper test run can be made before feeding this medicine to the unknowing... |

something similar we have but not as detailed nor as well laid-out, this is a worthy addition no doubt. good work, maliki, great to have you back around.
