Plastic lids are a pita to find sometimes. For those who do a lot of G2G in quart jars & have lots of metal lids.
Here is an easy perminant filter system.
Drill 2...............1/4 inch holes in 2 stacked metal lids, one on top the other.
Add a layer of Tyvek over one lid.
Fluff up some polyfil & add over Tyvek.
Add another layer of Tyvek & use a little glue to hold it all in place
Put the 2nd lid over the first, hold up to a strong light, to make sure holes match/line up.
You now have a perminant filter on double metal lids, use it upside down.
When you PC it, the first time, the sealer on the lid, will vulcanize the two lids togather.
Cheap, simple & effective.
When ya drill holes in new metal lids. Take a moment, to dab on a a bit of thin rustoleum paint around the hole - on both sides. That will stop the rust for a long while. Sounds like a pita. But, it isn't really & only takes a moment.
