I'm going to try the caapi/viridis/lemon juice method this weekend . When I made 'huaska with mimosa and rue , they were boiled down separately and the rue was imbibed first ....to allow the MAO inhibitors time to kick in . I noticed that the directions (archives) for caapi/viridis allow them to be boiled and consumed together. Why is this ? Any other tips greatly appreciated ! |

One more question : at what point do you freeze the viridis (to rupture the cell membranes )? |

As I see it, if you stored the leaf in the cold before you heat, (I stored my leafs in the freezer beforehand) then brewed on medium/simmer for approximately 12 hours, then refrigerated/froze it again(6 hours)repeatedly up until the final filtration and boiling down which wouldn't need freezing. However I'm not certain my methods are precisely what should be done, it just seems to me that first heating the solution then cooling is normal for all MAOI concoctions brew and freezing the plant material multiple times probably won't hurt you're brew, but would strengthen it. Just a theory however. When my friend and I ingested the brews separately. (shroomhyasha) It seemed to me that drinking separately was only to allow time for side effects/purging; purging can last for 45 min-3 hours, if you don't wait you might not be able to keep you're second brew down. Here's just my opinion. I think there is a lot of hearsay and conjecture in brewing methods. Even though it's easier to brew them together, I think separately is better in the long run, because if you don't brew separately, heating the combo might alter the brew slightly, or if you'll get more nausea from both verses one at a time. I also don't think a trip is any fun when/if you're purging constantly. The only reason I can see drinking the two together is if the DMT reacts as fast as the MAOI, verses shrooms which can take 20-30 minutes to kick-in.

You drink the caapi first to stop the dmt being unnecessarily destroyed before the caapi takes effect to protect it. I think it is best to brew separately. Some people brew together because they notice no difference when drinking together, but others get no or weak effect and have to drink separately. Also, I'm sure drinking together is much more nauseating. Traditional shamans always drink the brews together, but they also take multiple doses. I never tried freezing so I don't know how effective it is. There is an enormous amount of bullshit surrounding brewing methods. I'm a newbie and still trying to figure out the best way myself. Yet I've made several cool discoveries not mentioned anywhere else, which shows how much research still needs to be done until brewing methods, admixtures and usage are as clear, precise and detailed as the PF tek.

There are a lot of things I did when I brewed that were unnecessary, I'll definitely try Leprachaun’s new quick brew mixture. I did more than beat my wood with a hammer , I also ground it down to vermiculite size and smaller. I have a few different sizes I want to try. I tried the freezing method, and I'll have to try it without. I wish I knew more about the potential long-term side effects.
