I have been using a pressure cooker that I borrowed from a friend. This seems to be working okay I guess. But my jars seem to keep getting infected. But that's not what I'm trying to ask. My question is since I have to keep redoing my jars it is rather difficult to keep borrowing the pressure cooker from my friend whom uses it at his tatoo shop. I have heard of just boiling the seeds on the stove. But am not sure of how to go about doing so if this works. Could someone describe this process for me please. Thanks

Put your grain in a pot. Fill the pot with enough water to have a layer of at least 3 inches of water above the grain. Put it on the stove at high till it starts to boil. When it starts to boil, set it to low and let your rye simmer till it starts to burst. When the grains start to burst put them in a strainer and rinse them off. Now put them in your jars and P.C. 'em. Rye must be pressure cooked! Your jars are probably getting contaminated because you aren't boiling the grain first. How are you innoculating your jars?

Ya Mrt you gotta boil and RINSE, without this step I find the grain will just stick together and you can't skake it at all.

Mrt,
I've been p.c. the grain only and not boiling the grain first. Incubation is sticking the syringe in the lid of the jar and putting it in that way.
