I see, the jar looks like it has spots of cotton like white mycelium working on the wbs and then the rest of the seeds looks like it has fuzzy feet growing on them. I'm still gonna hold on to it but I have it in another room and will wait a week or so to take a look.
The rest of my jars seem to moving along rather slowly it like they stop colonizing after I gave them their first shake.
I dunno, but I didn't have this problem with my pre made and sterilized rye bags.
Bummer, I'm at maybe 50 % success when it comes to wbs. If that too.

Oats > WBS

IMHO of course.

Word^^ and out of a ten pound bag of wbs here for $ 6.00 I might be lucky to get 5 or 6 pounds of good seeds all the rest are sunflower seeds.
Cat, I tried the method you mentioned in another thread about using half pints of wbs instead of l.c.s for generating numerous amounts of syringes and the half pints all contaminated within a few days.
Nothing wrong with starting over again and trying them out on pf tek jars and tossing out those l.c.s
Those lc jars sat in my closet for 6 weeks while I was out of town anyway.
= improper storage
I have more Pan syringes on the way and a few healthy agar plates full of fluffy mycelium.
"Which is also nice."

whatever you do  Cigar  please don't  give up.

recently I had a foul up with un leached dung . I had to throw out all of the jars I had going except I saved white  growth I knew for sure was exactly what I wanted. just a single grain of  white rice infused with pan growth got

tossed into a fresh jar of white rice.

The jars I use are 1/2 pint and pint. they are filled with not more than 2 inches of the stuff ,then sterilized in a  PC for about an hour.

So from clean print to 5 jars prepared as above to just a single viable piece of growth is certainly cause for dismay and despair , it is still all not lost. I almost wanted to give up but I figured this will help others to see how  some methods

not widely used can suffice in a pinch. And even let people , pray God, see how easy rather than hard, it is to grow mushrooms.

^^^Thanks^^^
Just getting a bit flustered I have all these quart wbs jars that seemed to be stalled. It's been 4 weeks for a few of them and after the first shake no mass.
I like the 1/2 pints angle you mentioned. Thanks, Panatho.
Peace
I do have 4 tubs looking good now 1 P.E. cased yesterday and 3 APE's that need 7 to 10 days more to be fully colonized.
And my 3 Pan trays I'm going to case next week.
So that's a look on the brighter side of things for me.
Peace

Looking good, Cigar. Good vibes and like said above, don't give up on the pans. They are well worth the time IMHO.

Here are my Pan T's just put a thin casing layer on the top and came home from work and this is what's happening.
Going to work on another tub for the one resting on top of the two tomorrow.
Impressed so far. Let's see if these push up some fruit.
The two small plastic tubes are just pumping air inside.
Really just there when I'm working and can't be fanning every thirty minutes or so.
Any advice from anyone that has fruits these before I will be a happy man.
Peace

Any advice from you two I'm on it. I just hope I get some fruit.
I engineered something to put inside the fruiting chamber so it has 3 levels which is cool.
I'm waiting another 24 before I introduce lighting.
Got my 6500 k light bulbs now which are also very nice and at a decent price from Amazon.

Is it true the Pans can take up to ten days or so to even see pins?
I'm misting as much as possible and keeping the humidity up and I'm off for the next two days so I can spend more time tending to these fruits.
It's difficult when you have to work 13 hour days.

The third uncased APE tub.
Too much water on top. I'm going to clean this up before I case this one.
10 days for the rye spawn to case this substrate.

Cat, about patching the casing, yes, the same concept as Faht's laymixng idea basically.

Cigar, I wouldn't mist the surface of your pan grow too much unless you think the casing looks dry.  And you can just take some paper towels and clean up those moisture beads on your APE.  That's some pretty mycelium!
