I bet the plant takes off due to the alfalfa , doesn't alfalfa fix nitrogen in the soil also.

Alfalfa is a nitrogen fixer, and puts off a natural growth hormone, not sure how that works though, might need to be live and growing for that benefit.

Thamks I thought it was a legume.Alfalfa contains triacontanol a bio-stimulant, alfalfa pellets will work, I have soaked alfalfa overnight and used the tea in past years. You can see the difference with in days of using it. I might want to give it a try, I saw some alfalfa seeds at my local feed n grain a few days ago. People eat alfalfa sprouts too.
