You want to fan for 30-60 seconds about 3-5 times a day.  If you rolled the cakes or double-end cased them, you can mist them if the casing looks dry.  If you placed plain cakes in your FC, just mist the walls when they need it; no need to mist the cakes directly--it would just cause stress.

Here's hoping it all works out for you in the end. If not it helps to look at it as a learning experience. Once you have some success you'll easily pick up on what works and each successive time will be easier.

Heirloom, What's up? Just reading up on this thread and you mentioned " cream of tartar"? Could you please elaborate?
I have a Presto 23 qt pc that's discolored on the bottom of the inside of the pc from stacking lids.
I don't want to use any chemicals or any kind of steel wool to clean the inside on my cooker.
Any good advice on cleaning my pc?
Thanks

What sort of pressure cookers has every1 got? I was thinking of getting one, but cant decide if an old style jiggler thing would be better, or an electronic thingie: https://www.target.c...cooker/57444178

Here ya go Sam,Cream of Tartar. Discolored aluminum pots will sparkle again if you clean them with a mixture of 2 tablespoons cream of tartar dissolved into 1 quart (1 liter) water. Bring the mixture to a boil inside the pot and boil for 10 minutes.

I saw this in my presto book that came with my pc.

I inoculated 12 BRF cakes with B+ on 8th May 2017. I am hoping for more luck this time, without any help from fluorescent orange.
What do you think would be a good strain to run in parallel? I was thinking Lipa Yai. I'm going to leave the wood lovers until I have raised some cubensis successfully.

GT are easy to raise, I'll get my finger out and get to post office today.

OK, 6 days after inoculation there's furry white stuff on the sides of one of 2 jars. These were the B+. The Lipa Yai is yet to show, but at least we have liftoff.

No sign of the Fluorescent Orange Bandit either (I was wondering what that stuff was lol).

Not much to report, things are just plodding along lol. I think I have a GT coming along but I'm not sure.

Has anyone tried coir in place of vermiculite in a BRF Cake? It's just a thought, it's something my brain just does.
