If you watch the later videos he spawns it out and he refers to puting his casing in the microwave for 6 minutes as pasturizing.

Thats irradiation and heat i would consider that sterilization more the pasturizing

this is how I did my casing. I guess its fine for small amounts. Would you warm it on the stove in a pan?
Its not that what he did was wrong its that he isnt pasturizing the casing, he should say he is sterilizing and if your useing the microwave for a casing you should be fine. I prefer to pasturize as it covers my substrait with thermophilic bacteria and makes it that much harder for competition microbes. When i pasturize i put my hydrated substrait in a pot with a tight lid in the oven at 165 for 3 hours then i let it cool for 1 and then bring the heat up for another 3 hours cool for 1 and then 3 more hours that usualy works.
