As promised, below is a proper bulk grow in a shoe box using 50/50 horse manure compost/organic compost. Not quite a canopy, so I’ve got some more work with this species to find that “perfect” culture. But this clone is still pretty decent IMO. I slanted this one, as it is definitely worth saving:

And a couple of very large specimens:

And final wet weight on the 1st flush:

I have really fallen in love with this species and I hope to see other cultivators growing out these guys soon. And I have to give the credit to whitethumb for the very kind gesture of free spores. Without those spores, I’m sure I never would have had the chance to work with these guys. Again, thanks, brother man.

And always, good vibes and happy growing to all.

Awesome thread and some even better folks adding information along the way...
I have been hooked on growing these the last 2 months now and I finally have a print on the way.
I told her I wasn't In need of anymore spores but after this thread I hope she understands... And doesn't check mail.

You should get um going, Mikey. I just love those pans. Still my favorite, but the Viva’s are a pretty close 2nd.

I’m getting ready to pull out my favorite pan cultures in a couple of weeks to rejuvenate them and regrow for some fresh prints.

I promised a member here a print, but haven’t brought um out yet to get some. So I promise (you know who you are lol) I’ll get one out to ya soon.

after several attempts, not yet, but i do have a fully colonized tub i am trying to fruit, so far i got nothing. I hadn't cased it so i went and cased it yesterday in hopes that will help it along. I hope to have some nice fruits like yours. Great job on the grow, they are not the easiest for sure.

I bet you’ll get some fruit before you know it.

They definitely benifit from a casing but I’m not completely convinced they “need” one. I had a few agar plates produce and this particular clone (taken from an agar pin) always seems to produce some gnarly side pins. And they tend to grow well and mature too. So I bet with the right genetics, and isolation of said genetics, they would produce quite well invitro or as a cake grow. I may work with them like that at some poinr. But after my shoe box does it’s thing, I’m going to pop out my favorite Copelandia cyanescens cultures (see MJ, I’m going to call them by their rightful name from now on lol) and grow a few mini grows for fresh spores.

Thanks for the kind words all. I really appreciate you all checking out my fun with this species.

Beautiful 2nd flush pinning now (and a couple remnants from the first flush):

It’s looking to be a good 2nd flush so far. Got to love these little guys lol.

Last update on this grow via the 2nd flush:
7079B556-D15B-4C9F-9853-0EC22940D1AB.jpeg 5FC0641C-51D9-46E2-83DF-97A674716F1D.jpeg

And to show an example of the side pinning and maturation of it, here is the best picture I could get with my iPad:
B500505C-632A-451A-8BE5-4A4847C065FF.jpeg

It’s not a great picture, but hopefully you can see the fully developed cap growing deep within the substrate.

I am done with this grow but definitely not finished with working with this species. I tossed it this morning after harvesting the 2nd flush due to needing the room for other projects. Again, I thank all who have pulled up a chair for this grow log, and all the helpful and knowledgeable comments made by others along the way. And I do hope other growers take a liking to this particular species and grow um!
