Hi guys!

I am missing any new threads in the Field and Forest category!

So I decided to start one on my own.

Although the season here is not great for mushrooms at all, I got some photos from autumn I`d like to share...

And maybe some of the winter species like flammulina velutipes or pleurotus austreatus will join the game...

So I´d like to start the show with this nice colony of Gymnopilus Spectabilis.

They were growing on a old stump of oak:

Well and here are some Flammulina Velutipes from last winter:

hope you enjoy!

Those Gyms are pretty ... I always found honey mushrooms & tried convincing myself they were Gyms, but when I got home the facts were bitter indeed.

Anyone ever eat those things?  Audobon's guide says the Japanese think they're hilarious - hence the name - but ... ??? Any experiences IRL?

Always curious.  I got some GYM powder from JLF "Poisonous NonConsumables" back in the day, and it didn't do schitt, but that doesn't mean much.

Nice pics,

:)

Hey Soliver!

Thanks a lot!

Some of these Gymnopilus spectabilis I dried and tried.... only 2 small shrooms... but I felt definitely some kind of buzz....

However I only tried a small amount so far, but it definitely worked at least in combination with beer and weed...

I´ll try them pure again and will report.

Skywatcher!

I´m very happy you like my photograph that much!

I absolutely love macros and I hope you will enjoy some of the others that will follow!

Thanks a lot for the nomination!

And now some more pics...

for Soliver some Honey mushrooms and for Skywatcher the macros!

In this picture you can see the black root like rizomorphs of Armillaria mellea quite well...

PS:

Sorry that the pictures appeared in this way... some had turned the false direction...

I dont know why they rotated...

Someone else?

I was quite excited when I found these...

At first I thought that these are ganoderma resinaceum,

but then came to the conclusion that they are more likely Fomitopsis pinicola:
