Have you done 5g+ before? I know some folks like music no matter what, but that to me is a therapeutic dose and I find music an interruption of the learning that can take place. If you're no stranger to 5g+ and still want music, then rock on.

What I think I want to listen to before, isn't always what I want to listen to during.  It's super hard to change music during, though!

I like some type of rhythmic percussion or drum music in the background, sometimes with a few candles burning. It helps me to get to the state of mind I am looking for.

Something like this works for me....

Threshold of a dream or the lost chord by the Moody blues
Steppenwolf 1 and 2 or Steppenwolf 7.
Mr fantasy or shootout if you like Traffic
Trilogy or Tarkus Emerson Lake and Palmer
It's a beautiful day

As for me, I'm on this acid jazz rock fusion kick lately.

This one will blow your doors off......(oh yeah, dark west coast trip...the doors)

Try this out, see if you can hang on till the rhythm section kicks into gear

I took a good dose of some acid and at the time I was holding enough LSD to dose all of Sedona, AZ....I thought "It would be cool to dump this in the water supply and put tv's all over the town with these videos playing on a loop".....Good Times...

Quicksilver Messenger Service:   "Happy Trails"   Pure trip album...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac: " Vaudeville Years "; performance: "  "The Madge Sessions"..a very long trance-inducing jam session (almost 30 minutes) NOT the Fleetwood Mac  you know. No Stevie Nicks, no Christine McVie, no Buckingham. It's on You Tube

                                                                                                                        HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

And the always reliable Woodstock performance by Santana of   "Soul Sacrifice"...   never fails to satisfy.

As for me, I usually go to You Tube and listen to Kate Bush with my headphones plugged in when I trip.

Wind in the trees, flowing water, insects and birds.

The sound of the natural world is to me the most soothing and at the same time a perfect tonal background for the voices and amplifications of the teachers................................

I love the hissing resonance of stars on a clear night in the desert.

I love the idea of forrest sounds .... I love the hero dose, I look forward to it and plan it out... but I have never planned out music for it. ... that sounds so wild to me... like I am on the level of building up courage for the jump into hyperspace... finding a soundtrack for the jump is next level....  I do soundtrack for an eighth or under all day though...

I have more auditory hallucinations when I don't take my meds! J/K.... I get auditory hallucinations listening to music, or silence. But sometimes I enjoy listening to them. Sometimes music becomes very annoying. I'll yearn for something that sounds like Motorhead. But damn! illigitimateJester! I love me some Shpongle! I don't think I ever saw those visuals before either! Thanks!

I found Nine inch nails album "With Teeth" to be very good while tripping. I wouldn't have chosen it but it was in the carousel and started playing and I was to far gone to get up to change it. WOW it was a wild ride.
