I found these just a very few feet from my house. They grew just beside a termite hill. They seemed to be glowy during the night.
I hope you could tell me its name...
...and by the way, i'm from Cebu, Philippines. My location might help in identifying thes shrooms...

That looks like it's growing out of rock or something.

Instead of having the picture hosted offsite, you should upload it to the servers here, that way it can be included in the image browser :)

That might be a tree. They grow in woods. If the gills are connected to the cap but not the stem, most likely properties=death.

haha neat mushrooms there. What type of tree is that? Pine? Is that tree alive still, dead? Is it pine? Someone said a rock? Those are growing on a rock?

and yes, please attach the picture here at topia...

Scroll down a bit below the msg type box, and click manage attachments. Select the pictures to upload, and upload them. Then you can include it in the msg itself by scrollin down a bit below the typing box there again at the same spot, and right click the attachment filenames in the list which should now be displayed there. Select copy shortcut, and you've now got the shortcut for the image. (windows pc's). Then to display in your msg, do the same as you did, link in a picture address, and paste in your new attachment link.

Sorry to hijack, back to our originally scheduled programming :D

It's hard to say what it is, but it doesn't look Amanita to me with that cap shape. Maybe a Gymnopus of some sort. Don't eat them regardless.

It only turns up flat when mature. When young they have a bell shape, enough so that when very young they look somewhat like puffballs, I thought anyway?

I know that, but those caps are more umbrella shaped rather than bell shaped. And those show browning characteristics on the flesh that aren't consistant with any id samples of that Amanita that i've seen.

Those don't resemble any amanitas at all, especially Amanita verna. 100% not Amanita. It's hard to say just based on those pics what they actually are.

Just based on those pics I'd say they are a type of Marasmius based on the little I can see of the gills. That is a weak guess at best.

Definatley not an aminata. It's one of thousands of insignificant mushrooms, no reason to think it's deadly poisonous at all!

Thanks Sharkie for the nomination...

-----------
Its not actually growing on rocks, its actually a living tree trunk. We call this tree the Yellow Bell Tree. Its flowers are shaped like bells and are the favorite of the Flower Picker Birds.

This tree is quite interesting 'coz i sometimes find Chantereles, Reishi, Turkey Tails, Rat Ears and other bracket mushrooms growing on its dead trunks and branches.

Doobydoo, thanks. Now i know how to upload these pictures here in Topia.
-----------

Attached are some pictures of it under the cap... This might help...
...sorry about the resolution... i only got a 3.2MP Kodak CX6330.

I remember as a boy being on a hunting trip just as it was getting pretty dark we passed a bed of wild mushrooms that were glowing a pale green kind of like the old plastic glow-in-the-dark toys. I wondered if that was a natural mushroom property or had those mushrooms absorbed something that made them glow. It wasn't bright but it was definately a glow.

...yeah. This one also seemed to be glowy but not that bright. It must have absorbed light during the day and use them during the night.

...one of those natural wonders that is...

And by the way, i tried two times getting sporeprints on this one. I used white paper 'coz i expected to get colored sporeprints. But... i didn't get any...!? How come? Is it possibly that there are mushroom species that don't give-off spores? Or maybe i just used two too matured specimen?

There actually is a mushroom called the Jack'O Lantern mushroom (Omphalotus illudens, now olearius) that supposedly does glow in the dark. Some mycologists swear it does, and some say it's a crock. Who knows, but the specimen above isn't it.

Although my first photo has not been named yet, i want to post another picture of a shroom i found still within my vicinty...

2.
http://mycotopia.net...=1&d=1156482856

This one is on a small dead trunk of a Neem Tree. I think its a wild Oyster Mushroom. I found this beside a bamboo fence along the road on my way to work. I believe this one is getting matured.

Actually, this has been growing in the same location for the past months. It's MycoTopia who makes me aware of these wild mushrooms. So i want to take photos of them everytime i see some so that i could post them here. And i love doing it anyway...

I hope you guys could confirm right away if this is really an edible Oyster or Chanterelle so that i could take them before they die...
