This is my agar culture of a Volvariella volvacea or the Straw Mushroom. I made this one on a flat bottle last June 30 from the agar culture also given to me by the Agriculture Dept.

I cooked a few "cloves" of this one. After washing them thoroughly, I sliced them thinly, and sauteed it with garlic. I poured water, boiled it and added cooked rice to make myself a "congee" - a rice soup. I ate them myself. The mushroom was chewy but sure smells good. I finished it up and started watching out for signs of "mushroom intolerance". After 30 minutes, i was sweating all over. Maybe because i has hungry and i ate a bowl of hot rice soup so i was sweating. A few minutes after, i feel like i want to vomit - nausea! I didnt tell my wife about it 'coz she might panic. I pretended not nauseating. I tried to control my self and ate something sweet. After a while, its all gone.
What had happen?!?

I believe this is a reishi mushroom. Its about 17inches lethwise and 12inches crosswise. Quite big actually!
Its growing on a dead ipil-ipil trunk. They say it keeps on smoking! I told them is was bombarding a thousand spores around it. Nothing to worry about.

Actually, i been making a rice hull spawn out of this.
...and grain spawns for the Oysters (P. florida) too. Results are quite good.
I will be planting these soon.

Maybe pm srgtm1a to see if he knows. I've looked in all of my guides and haven't found squat that's even close. I kind of think it may be a deformed Oyster or something.

These appear to be Porodisculus Pendulous or close relative there of. Trying to find a picture of it....not a frequently photographed mushroom.
EDIT: here is the only pic I could find on the net.

That second Pic you have is not a reishi....that is an Artist's Conk. Color will vary with age...but that is a big one.

The link you gave about the Porodisculus pendulous says its common name is Pendulous Disc. I'll remember this. This must not also be edible...
The Artist Conk... hhhmmm.... it really is a big one if you you've seen it personally.
Thanks a lot Sir!
...if its not too much, could you also ID the very first one in this thread...

I also found this one along the dusty road about a very few meters away from that Angel's Wings Oyster Mushroom above.
It resembles small orange-to-red colored bracket mushrooms. What might this be?
I tried getting a sporeprint of this one on a white paper. I got print alright, but im not sure if i got a sporeprint or a just a red stain. I still kept the print in a tupperware anyway.

This appears to be a Ganoderma species, or a Turkey Tail of some sort. A young Varnished Polypore maybe. Regardless it's edible, but tastes like wood.
