You know what im talkin' about people

Now let's Celebrate

This baby, and all of it's sibling cakes

are Hippie's Mycro Jars

'Nocced with a little B+ from the people over at SporeWorks on 8/3

Began birthing/DEC cakes on 8/18, the last of them were birthed yesterday, 8/23

Those already showing 'goosebumps'

This particular cake was birthed/DEC 4 days ago

And the one to the right, with the biggun' (nearly 1") protruding is on day 5

Now, I have no humidity guage... and to be honest would rather not fork out the money to purchase one. So, my question is... with a pinset like this, heck, the fact that I even have pins, means I have met at least the bare minimum for the mushrooms to grow, right? If that's the case, then I think I will keep it simple and forgoe the hygrometer for now. Def. will purchase one for my future grows

I'm not going to get lucky with every tek I try

Anyway, enjoi the pic

Let me know what ya think :teeth:

I'd just like to take a minute to thank all the people that made this possible. Hippie, for his wonderful product, and incredible kindess. Also don't forget about the balls it takes to maintain and operate this RIGHTEOUS site. And all of you, my fellow topiates, with your uncanny willfulness to help the n00b get it right, however many answers to his questions can already be found in the archive :) Oh an of course all the Mods, the site wouldn't be the one we know it as without them. And last but certainly not least, the mushroom community in general. It's the growing number of people w/ some interest in psychoactives that even makes sites such as topia possible. Cheers, my friends... We've won the battle :reb:

Hmmm is it ok that the occasional water droplet falls onto the cakes/pins? I beleive someone here has already told me bah humbug when it comes to drip sheilds, but I wanted to check with the rest of you. Are they really not needed? Just on a science/evaporation note it seems like the cakes would be unnafected by water, because the occasional drop, given the drops are scattered, should evap. a ok quickly enough without damaging the cake. That's just my two bits on it, though. What do you guys think?

If I see a drop on a cake, I'll gently dab it with a clean paper towel.
That is some cake you got there.
Well done!

Why thanks

I am flattered, this being my 1st grow

Guess I just got lucky.

Also Hip's jars probably out perform the fuck out of a simple brf/verm. cake

So the fact that I used them might also have something to do with the heavy pinset

To reduce dripping condensation from the lid , you can put a layer of plastic bubble wrap on top or under the lid...This acts as insulation and reduces the thermal gradient which causes the drops to form..
If your lid is opaque then u can use a towel instead...
Great looking cake BTW...
