I am starting this thread as a place to share and discuss all dream, and dream related subjects. I am hoping to see both sharing and insight to meanings and techniques or suggestions for understanding. I will pin this thread if we have enough response. I am well practiced at dream analysis myself, but also have dreams that are not the norm, that seem something else.

Please feel free to share dreams you want to understand better, or simply wish to share. Please feel fee to comment if you relate to any of the content to come here.

Dreams can be windows to our deepest inner psyche. They also take on another form when they are fortelling, and slipping into a lucid state adds another layer to the dream dynamic.

My hope is we can help each other by adding an outside perspective.

This is a long, ongoing sequence of dreams I have been having for many months, almost a year. It does not feel like a dream when I am there. I would like to hear any impressions or feedback offered.

This is a recurring dream that I have on the average 2-3 times a week, with gaps for a week or more, and then back. This has gone on for at least 8 or more months. The characters and specifics change, but  the location is what I recognize as a dream place, and there is always an expectation that I do something to help. The greatest part of the dream will be spent trying to find something , or leading people out or away from something. As soon as I recognize where I am, I  begin to go into a "search mode", I realize then,  that this is a dream, and go lucid. The dream feels real, and sometimes it feels like I am watching remotely (which I actually am)
This was the dream from 2 nights ago.

I am driving up a freeway and make a wrong turn. As soon as I get into the winding roads in  this hilly/ mountainous area, I recognize it as the place where I get sent or go in the dream, so  I must be dreaming. I can't drive farther and park on a grassy area, and begin to walk. I know I will get lost, and will not find my truck again, and this time I thought  I knew the freeway where I was when I got off, but I can't go back. The area is very green. Lots of trees and there are houses around but no people. I start to search, and walk through houses and hills and dirt roads.
I come upon a large gathering of people. I do not recognize any of them, but they seem  to know me. and are pulling me to a large table where some are sitting. I am seated next to an older woman whith short white hair. Se has an elegance about her, a almost regal nature, although she is dressed in unremarkable clothing. She is obviously a leader of some sort to these people. She knows me but I do not know her. She insists they take pictures of us at the table, and this is some kind of celebration. I do not understand the reason, and feel I am being detained.  I cannot stay, I have to be somewhere but nobody I ask will tell me where, or how to get back to the road where I took the wrong turn.
As I leave, there are many people following me, as if I was guiding them but I do not have any sense of where or why. I am now lucid, and begin shifting from one place to another, like just instantly there,  but its all in these grass covered hills surrounded by mountains and it has been dark but still light enough to see since I left the gathering. I am handed something from a young man. At first I think it is a crystal of some sort. It is pale pink and gold, hand sized, and shaped like a double terminated narrow oval. It does not feel right and as I look at it, layers peel off in paper thin shreds. It is too light in weight, and has a smell like melted plastic. It means something but it feels false.
I then begin to search again, going from place to place, always trapped in these hills. As i walk a dirt road between older houses and trees, a child comes running out of the woods. He is afraid, something is chasing him. I tell him to stay in front of me, so I am between him and the thing that is chasing. I tell him not to look back, and keep moving towards the side out of the road. I feel like I am shielding him and that he does not understand what is after him, only that he fears it. I do not look back myself, but feel the presence, cold, dark, hungry. I get him to a creek and know he is safe there, I then shift again, and find myself in the lobby of a resort hotel. There are no guests, only staff.
I ask for directions, how to get to the highway I turned off from. They do not answer and will not speak to me. They look at me as if they are annoyed. I find my own way out through many halls and grand rooms and climb out a window to get back outside. I am trying to find my car, but have no idea where to even look. I walk into a small canyon between green hills and come down into a open area on the side of a hill, enclosed in mountains. I know the smell of this place. As I come over a rise, I see a large concrete complex, surrounded by walls and fences. I know this place and have been in there. It is a bad place. There are many people held there in a sort of prison. They are not criminals, they are held against their will. I know I must help but  am repeled to another place. I did not shift this time, I was bounced away by a force. As I realize this, I remember the plastic piece from earlier and look at it again. It has lights within it, blinking in sequences. I remember a earlier dream with this building and know it is building 5, that  I  was  compelled by voices to destroy. The building has now been moved, hidden in these hills. The device in my hand is the detonator. I fear this building . It has appeared in other of these dreams. I have led the people out before, and the guards/ beings/ have been always  looking  for me but I elude them. I am overwhelmed with emotion of great loss as I thought I had destroyed this building 5 already. There is something really bad, dangerous in there, and inhuman beings that guard and protect it. The word "Themonuclear" is somehow associated.
I sit on the grass and am too spent to do more at this time, I cry in great sobs at a feeling of loss.
I awake.

This dream takes different forms but always has similar elements. It also without fail occurs between 11:30 and ends between 12: 39 and 1:00. It ends at exactly 12:47 at least 1 out of every 3 times, but there is no reason or sound to wake me at that time. It may be less than an hour of dreaming, but always seems like I was there for many hours.
I would appreciate any feedback from any of you. Things that stand out, symbols you see, anything at all. I do not understand "building 5". I also do not understand why I would destroy it without question, or concern for my own risk or death by doing so.

Interesting dream, I think it's trying to tell you something regarding responsibilties or commitments.

If you have time, read over the meaning of the number 5, it might help you piece the puzzle together.

Very interesting. The large concrete structure is something I have had come in to my own dreams. Usually it is mostly empty but for a few people here and there and I can also relate to trying to save them, or lead them from or to some unknown place. I have often seen other-worldly as in alien craft, but wonder if they are actually human in origin as I have observed humans on board a few times.

Once I was looking over a concrete edge, like a cliff but man-made and seeing some sort of huge creatures (two of them) swimming lazily around in circles down below as if they expected to feed there somehow, like as if someone were to fall or be pushed or thrown from there on a regular basis.

I think this thread will become an epic read, and I will try to add what I can recall of my own dreams as they occur. Maybe I will transpose one or two from my dream journal to here to help get things going. Posted mostly to link me here so I can return easily in the future.

Excellent idea for a thread!

Man this will be a good to read thread!

I don't recal a lot of my dreams at this period in life.
But all my life my stress has expressed its self through very active physically as well as mentally difficult sequences where I have made it down a flight of steps and out the back door before I woke up to this reality. People have had conversation with me and said my eyes are open and I look like I'm awake but not!

Have a shit storm at work recently
Most recent act out was when I found all my tomatoe starts in peat pellets on fire between the two pillows I sleep on.
I managed to get out of bed with out waking the dog or bear...down the hall to the kitchen and out the back Door to the deck where I was gonna dump them over the rail into the drive.
Woke before I got my pillows dirty and thank god no body in the neighborhood (that I know of) saw my naked ass!

I've had some recurring dreams for many years now:

https://mycotopia.ne...m-please-share/

I posted a thread about it a good while ago. Since this thread is newer I'm just going to quote the portions of that thread that relay my dreams. Lately I've had some dreams, but haven't been recording them. I need to remember to charge my AAA batteries to put one into my voice recorder and leave it next to my bed.

I find that it helps to have an audio recorder set up, or a pen and paper near where I sleep to be able to write down what bits I actually remember from my dreams when I wake up. Otherwise I just forget the basic story of my dreams quite quickly.

If I wake up and need to use the bathroom, unless I talk into my voice recorder or just jot down notes on paper right then and there, before I get up and use the bathroom, I will completely forget the whole dream!

Hopefully these tips will help others to remember and share their dreams.

The key to recording your dreams is to do it as soon as you wake up while the memories are still fresh in your mind. They fade rather quickly!

Here are the highlights from my dreams:

I have experienced recurring dreams and themes since about 3 years now, I believe. Unfortunately, I don't have an exact timeframe. I only recently began to record these dreams over the least year or so.

http://en.wikipedia....Recurring_dream

Oddly enough, I have not experienced most recurring themes from the Wikipedia entry.

I have, however, experienced one dream each relating to the following themes listed in the Wikipedia entry above:

  • Drowning, or otherwise not being able to breathe. I drowned in mud on a sweltering summer's day, surrounding by a jeering crowd closing in on me, trapped in the confines of a locked baseball field with chain fences and locks.
  • Teeth falling out. This one would take a while to explain.

The themes or aspects of my recurring dreams involve the following:

  • I often revisit certain places from previous dreams.
  • I am often in a large building, or a campus composed of many buildings, sometimes a neighborhood, sometimes a large event or festival. I try to find my way out. If I'm lucky, I can find my way out to a parking lot, or a road, yet I am always lost and I cannot find my way out, though I try desperately and never give up.
  • While trying to escape from these places, I find myself discovering what seems to be an exit, but it only leads me into more rooms, or rooms I've already searched through.
  • I "know" the people that are in my dreams, but they change all the time. There are no recurring characters in my dreams that I know or have known in person that fit these recurring themes or dreams.
  • Often, while trying to find my way out, I will lose my shoes. Sometimes I have socks. Sometimes I am barefoot.
  • If I can finally manage to exit the enclosure of buildings, etc. , and I do not have my shoes or socks, it is often raining. Then I am trapped in a large parking lot, desperately trying to find my car. I will use the remote on my keychain to see if my car will beep to let me know where it is. Sometimes I hear a beep. I hardly every find my car, or I will find what appears to be my car, only to be met with disappointment.
  • If I do manage to find my car, I cannot find my way out of the parking lot. Or, if I do, I cannot find my way back home.
  • If I can't find my car, I will begin to walk. If I walk, I will often revisit previous places from prior dreams. Sometimes I have shoes. Sometimes I don't. Always on foot I encounter the places I've dreamed about previously, and sometimes while taking public transportation.
  • On foot, I will try to take public transportation, but the bus, the train, etc., always passes over my intended destination and lets me off somewhere else unknown, or they will not even allow me to use public transportation and refuse my entry. Then I am on foot again, and I encounter the same places from previous dreams.
  • I sometimes find myself in high school, or middle school, or college again. I worry about a test or a project that is due that I have not prepared for or have not completed. Sometimes I will attend a certain class several times. Then I realize that I have graduated high school and college both years ago, that I don't need to worry about this. Then I try to escape and the same things I've already listed kick into high gear.
  • Sometimes, if in school or on a campus, usually neither of which are very familiar, I will get into physical fights with people who start them with me. I usually win, thankfully, yet I can never escape.
  • Oftentimes I will find myself going to work, and stressing out while working there, only to realize, while dreaming, that I haven't worked at these places for many years, that these places in the dream do not reflect reality, and I leave the job... Only to be unable to: Find my shoes, my socks, my car, a way out of the parking lot, or a way out on foot, sometimes finding myself in various locations that I've previously dreamed of, or a combination of everything already listed.

I have NO IDEA what is going on here. I don't mind revisiting certain places on foot when I dream, as I often go to parks, wilderness areas with hiking paths, subterranean passages, walk down long roads in strange places that I vaguely remember from my dreams. These places exist only in my dreams.

There is so much more that I can tell of my dreams, but I've already relayed more than enough information for a patient reader to take in in one post here!

When I was much younger, before I entered my teenage years, I did have one dream about falling from the sky into the ocean.

I panicked, knowing that I might drown. I held my breath in, but was taken deeper and deeper into the ocean. I do not like the ocean. I have a fear of it. I live on the Atlantic coast, so the ocean here is dark and murky. Who knows what is down there? I was also tugged deeply, again and again, at about the age of 7, when I met a random boy while vacationing with my family by the beach. We were jumping into waves. Well, a few waves overtook me and I was afraid that I would never be able to break through the surface to air and familiarity. This is why I have a fear of the ocean.

In my dream, however, I felt as though I would suffocate. My lungs were burning. I couldn't take it anymore and my body instinctively and uncontrollably tried to breathe, sucking in water. I was amazed, however, that I could breathe underwater.

I made my way to the shore of an island. Beautiful white sand. A temperate, sunny day, with cool breezes greeted me as I trudged out of the water. I saw a tan brick structure, a small tomb, farther up the shore. I walked there, and found a sleeping woman. I kissed her. It was magnificent. She awoke. We embraced. Then I woke up.

When I was in my teens, and I had my first kiss, it was just as wonderful as I had experienced in that dream.

I have only died once, that I can recall, in my dreams. I mentioned it in my initial post. It was a sweltering summer day. The sun beat down, unmercifully, baking everything and everyone. A large crowd, emanating from what appeared to be a school building, began to file out, draw into a crowd, and surround me. I was driven toward a fenced-off basball diamond. I was pushed into a corner, a very muddy corner. I began to sink into the mud as the crowd jeered and taunted me. As the mud took me, and I fell deeper and deeper into the earth, their cries grew louder and more raucous.

I felt the hot mud sludging into my clothes, dragging me down, covering me. I felt sheer panic and fear. My vision went black as I went under and I held the last breath of air I took in until my lungs burned. I couldn't control my reflexes and I breathed in, swallowing mud, choking on it. Then, mercifully, I woke up, unharmed.

Last night I had a most strange dream. I would certainly classify it as a nightmare. Unfortunately, every time I awoke, I was just far too tired to reach for my digital audio recorder to attempt to catalog it. As soon as I awoke, I felt woozy. Dizzy. I couldn't remain awake. I drifted very quickly back into sleep, to be greeted again by the continuation of this nightmare. I simply could not fight sleep pulling me back down, although I tried many times to resist it. I don't even remember how many times I was jostled awake, in shock, in fear, sheer terror, before being muffled and drowned again, finding myself trapped yet again in this crazy, chaotic nightmare realm.

I can remember only bits and pieces.

At first the dream was pleasant. I befriended an older man with long silvery hair and a great bushy beard. I recall that, initially, I thought fondly of him. He was a kind old hippie type. He lived in a spacious white mansion, surrounded by wilderness, not far off from where I lived (in the dream at least). I recall having spent a great deal of time with him, enjoying cannabis, enjoying mushrooms. I vaguely recall that I considered him a very intelligent fellow, with whom I had many deep conversations involving many varied topics.

I remember my mother being in the dream. She had a bad feeling about him. She didn't like him. People kept warning me about him. I couldn't see anything wrong with him, though.

I also remember later on discovering that he wasn't to be trusted. I awoke and drifted back to sleep so often, it's all disjointed.

Strange things started to happen. I recall a particular moment during the dream when I was steaming glass jars filled with substrate, however they were steaming while left on the carpet with no heat source. I remember being paranoid, trying to hide them from my mother. In the dream I apparently still lived with her, though the house I lived in is nothing like I've ever seen before in my life.

Small cats kept finding their way into my room. So far as I am aware, in the dream, I didn't own any cats. I kept trying to shove them out of the windows. They became violent, scratching, biting me. I'd get rid of one and two more would show up. I was plagued by cats that were very much interested in scratching and biting me. I became absolutely paranoid of them in the dream. The cat and jar steaming occurred at night.

Then I recall finding out that this jolly old hippie was a violent person. He was pulling one over on me. He wanted to rape me. It's all too difficult to keep track of, really, but it was a very, very bad dream, and being attacked by these cats that I couldn't get rid of was a common theme.

I love cats, but during this dream they plagued me, hunted me.

That's about all I can recall. However, I now remember that there have been other dreams, long past, nightmares, where I encountered cats that attacked me, clawed me, sometimes ripping me to shreds. Sometimes they were house cats. Sometimes they were bob cats. In one dream, I opened up a curious package, put my hands into it, and some wild cat tried to shred the skin from my arms.

So strange. It was only today, after thinking a bit, that I was able to recollect that in past nightmares cats attacking me have played a major part in my nightmares.

Dreams are curious, confusing, confounding things.

I had a downright frightening dream recently.

From what I've written here previously you all know that the most common theme among my dreams, for many years, has been my attempting to get home while always being thwarted from doing so.

Well, I fell asleep and then I found myself in the dreaming.

I was in my room, but it was different. In this dream it was my room, however.

A strong, ominous miasma permeated throughout this dream and took over everything.

I stepped out of bed, as in this dream I was still laying in bed, as though I had awoken, and I got up and walked around.

The walls were, well, it's difficult to describe. They were white and covered with black and gray kaleidoscopic, fractal designs that were morphing and animated. If you grew up in the past and you remember 'static' on the television set, well, combine this with fractals and you can somewhat understand.

I tried to exit my bedroom. I walked out into a narrow hallway that also had these "living walls". There was dead silence. I couldn't get past a few steps from the hallway. I had to squeeze through the narrow opening that my bedroom door would allow me in this dream.

Then I became stuck. I couldn't progress. I couldn't get OUT.

I went back into the bedroom and sat upon the bed.

Then I felt this dark energy. It was coming from the closet.

The closet door opened, squeaking, scarily.

I focused my attention on the door and willed it to be shut.

It shut, but then burst open again in defiance.

At this point, I realized that this was a dream. I had never before had this realization while dreaming before. This borders on the definition of "lucid dreaming", in which one KNOWS he is dreaming.

I focused everything upon me and I drew energy into myself. I glared at the closet door, but it would not shut.

Then I thought, let me go HOME.

I struggled. I focused. I concentrated on myself. I was paralyzed in this dream. This strange, overpowering, almost overwhelming static shock, this invisible prison surrounding me trying to keep me fearful, kept me trapped here in this dream, yet I focused and I slowly broke away as I willed myself to wake up. I closed my eyes and I kept focusing. I KNEW I was dreaming. I wanted to wake up.

I then found myself slightly awake in my real bedroom, but paralyzed. I kept focusing and fighting to wake up and take control.

It took EVERYTHING I had within me to do this.

Then I broke free.

I awoke and sat up in bed.

I saw that I was really awake, really in my bedroom.

I felt triumphant.

I thought, perhaps now I have finally broken through and conquered this ever-shifting labyrinth of dream that had always kept me from coming "home". Now I was home in the truest sense.

I still remember this dream quite vividly.

Instead of wandering around in the dreamscape, fruitlessly trying to find my way out inside of the dream, I did something new and different: I decided to draw upon myself and break OUT of the dream.

I wonder what awaits me in the future when I am sleeping. I do feel very different now, however.

Even when I was "lost" in these dreams, hopelessly attempting to explore, never stopping, never giving up, to find my way "home" and never getting there, now I finally had done so! Now I believed in myself. Now I knew I had to draw from within myself to get "home" rather than being mislead and getting caught up in the nonsense of my dreams that would put so many obstructions before me.

I can't voice enough how transformative this experience was for me.

Perhaps this "home" I had been seeking for so many years in my dreams was merely coming back to myself, breaking away from the dreams and returning to true reality, to the waking.

I just wanted to share. Never before had I felt so able and unafraid to break free from my dreams.

I still hope to dream. Even in those dreams where I could never quite find my way out they were always wonderful. I was always exploring. I never stopped. I never gave up. I always managed to conquer adversaries in this dreamscape and come out on top. These dreams bordered on being nightmares, but I always flung myself deep into the maw of the unknown, unafraid to explore, unafraid and unwilling to stop searching.

And, even more interesting, over the last few months, in these dreams, I had gone farther and farther. I always felt this powerful feeling that I COULD conquer whatever my dreams threw at me in recent times, while awake or while asleep.

Maybe I've figured something out, finally.

I can tell you that now I feel so much more self-assured.

I never stopped trying, and finally I felt strong enough, determined enough, to break free.

I finally have broken free.

It is a great feeling.

Wow I relate to a lot of those dream bites. I have had many dreams of my teeth falling out, Now that they are gone I no longer worry about them apparently lol. I have also had dreams where I was pulled down very deep into the water and could not hold my breath anymore only to find that I could breathe the water.

Last night I dreamed I was enjoying some time with my wife in a beautiful mountain place with a mirror smooth lake and the sun shining and I started to crawl down a hillside towards the water and became entangled in a sort of booby trap like pot growers have been known to use with fish hooks hanging down all over the place. I had several of them deeply imbedded into me and was only able to rip a couple of them out. There was one imbedded deeply into the skin on my head under my hair and I could not rip that one out no matter how hard I tried as it was too deeply into the meat of my scalp. That mess really screwed up what started out as a beautiful dream lol.

Upon reflection on this I think maybe this dream was spurred on by the movie the hateful 8 which had a scene with chains hanging down that had hooks on the ends of them for no apparent reason and I noticed them in the movie. Apparently they made a subconscious impression on me.

Teeth falling out ^^^^

Reminded me a dream from my youth that effected my waking time for a long while.

The part that I remember was pretty gnarley and posting the whole description would be kinda gross to post but it had to do with one of my big toes. There was a certain Feeling in that toe from the dream that carried over into the waking. This lasted for about a year. Bad enough that when stressed I'd dig the heal iof my shoe into my toe nail through my other shoe to put pressure on it.
Ten'ish years or so later that toe ends up being a fungal nail.

I get concerned now if I have a dream where something like that happens....that I can remember.

I can relate to that too Psybear. I dreamed I had a large tumor just under the side of my ribcage next to my sternum. Turned out I DID have a tumor growing between my Gall Bladder and my liver, right where it was indicated in the dream. My body knew it was there way before me or the docs did. Now I listen if my instincts tell me there is a problem.

Last night I had a dream that I was in Viet Nam with 4 other guys. (No, not a veteran and never been there) We were on some sort of mission and were staying there for a while. We found a small house to rent and went to the marketplace. This bustling marketplace shows up in my dreams from time to time. Anyhow while there we haggled for groceries and I bought some living plants and a Kombucha tea starter which the nice lady seemed very happy that I knew what it was. I took the potted plants back to the house and deposited them in the sort of bay window in the front of it that looked out on a very busy street. I saw a large fish balloon being pulled down the street attached to a horse drawn cart. There were throngs of people.

We seemed to be looking for something or someone, and suddenly I was aware we had been spotted and were being followed. We ran into a busy movie theater complex, and lost ourselves in the crowd and got away. I got separated from my friends and ducked into a little shop where there was a strange little old gypsy woman in there working leather. She handed me a big stainless steel revolver, like one of those big S&W .500 caliber hoglegs and told me to just take it and go. So I did.

Back out into the alleyway and trying to keep this thing from sliding out of my beltline and falling to the street it seemed to weigh about 5 lbs and I knew I had to keep it out of sight somehow. I was only a few houses from ours when I was spotted again and had to run. Instead of running to our house I took off through some yards by pushing my way through a hedgerow that was very thorny and was scratched pretty good but paid no mind to that. I darted through two more yards and made a big loop and ducked into our own back yard through an old gate with a big iron latch. There was a huge dog like an Irish wolfhound who could be very ferocious and had huge teeth, but he wagged his tail like he was my dog.

This wolfhound and sometimes 4 of them seem to have a showing in my dreams from time to time. Maybe a past life attachment to them? Never had one in this life but I even know the smell of the beasts and can feel their big bones through their fur. They are fiercely loyal and faithful companions in my dreams.

I was very glad to be indoors out of sight and saw that my plants had survived and seemed to be perking up after their time in my duffel bag being bumped around. One of my companions was missing, and they seemed to be some sort of paramilitary team of sorts. I stood there watching the throngs of people go by through the big bay window. I was looking for the soldiers in the brown uniforms who seemed to be trying to catch us.

Odd but incredibly detailed dream. There was a lot more to it but this is all I can remember.

Interesting dream Coop. I find it interesting that so many of us seem to have dreams where we are on some sort of mission, or trying to find something, but not privy to what that might be. It'feels to me like it is more about the search, and not the objective.

I could relate to a great many of the items or scenarios you mentioned Niemand. Looking for my car is a recurring theme fore me, as is being in old hotels or buildings with halls and rooms that just seem to go on and on. I have never had a drowning dream. For as long as I can remember, I have always been able to breathe underwater. This has led to many dreams of fantastic citys and places below the water.

I always wonder when i see references to any animal, if there is a spirit guide or protector that actually exists. I know this is very true for me, but not everyone is as aware of animal spirit guides as I am. Wolf is a guide i could see as very appropriate to you Coop. If you have these protectors show up in dreams on occasion, I would say the Wolf is important. You seem to feel a bond with them, and the number is always significant.

You might read about Wolf meaning and see if anything resonates with you........then read dog, which also has a reflection of our selves.

Wolf is on this page:

Wolf is my totem animal, and we were privileged to get to cohabitate with a magnificent North American Timberwolf for a few years. He was an amazing animal and was over 165 lbs and still had two years to grow. His spirit is still here, and comes to me in dreams pretty often. The wolfhounds are separate from that phenomenon however.

My wife's great grandmother was a Cherokee medicine woman, and not many women were elevated to that status. She was reputed to be a shapeshifter. Interestingly enough my daughter also has dreams of battling spirits and in her dreams she changes into a huge wolf to do battle with them. I often wonder if our dreams are our consciousness changing dimensions to another reality as real as this one where we are empowered like we are supposed to be here in this one. I believe that us human beings are much more powerful creators than the mainstream lets us believe in this reality.

Through my own seeking, I have come to KNOW that there is much more to our abilities as humans than meets the eye, and some people have found their latent talents and work on the fringe as psychics and mediums and other things like detectives and especially effective police and even in service positions. Often the most humble among us have something very special to offer if you just pay attention.

I want to tell you about a series of dreams I had a few yrs ago. They were simple visiting dreams, but the odd thing is that they were with Jerry Garcia. The odd thing about that is that I have never been a big dead fan, and have no particular affinity for his music. In the dreams we are simply talking and laughing, in comfortable familiarity, and we roll and smoke, and strum on our guitars as if we are long lost brothers or something. There is a genuine feeling of warmth and kinship in the dreams.

After having several of these dreams I saw a street artist who did incredible pencil sketches of famous people. I asked him to draw me a picture of Jerry Garcia and as if by magic he whipped it out in about 5-10 minutes and it is incredibly detailed and amazingly perfect and done from memory. He didn't even have a picture to look at and he was an Asian guy who didn't seem to speak a lot of English, so it was even weirder. It hangs above my headboard of my bed now. My wife is sleeping but I will try to have her take a picture of it tonight and add it in here.

Any thoughts on the Jerry Garcia visiting dreams?

Cool dream, but the symbolism of this man to you would be the root of the meaning. I'm sure you knew who he was, so the dream could be no more than an enjoyable expression of your mutual love of music. You would need to free associate a while to see or remember any symbolic associations with him, and feelings or occurances that his persona bring to mind.

Last night I dreamed that I was somehow whisked away to some sort of academy or school. It was incredibly crowded with kids of all ages (I was an adult) and there was a lot of chaos. Fights would break out for no apparent reason, other than the crowded conditions. I was trying to find a locker that I had put some tools and a jacket in, but the lockers had been moved, and so I was trying to find it by looking into all of the lockers. I was finding an odd assortment of things in those lockers and collecting what I felt I needed despite the bustling people.

All of the doors were stuck shut and the door knobs removed. I finally found a big crescent wrench and a telescoping antenna? and with the wrench I made my way outdoors into an inner courtyard full of overgrown brush and grass. I was trying to get the antenna secured to a small electronic box with one knob on it, to do what I have no idea but it was important that someone know where I was and this box seemed like the way to get that information out. The light outside was very odd and dispersed like the sunshine was coming through a haze of clouds, like the whole sky was lit up but hazey.

I suddenly noticed movement in the grass, and saw a small animal but it was ate up with mange, and I could not even identify it. I realized there were two of them, and that they were snarling at me. One of them suddenly rushed me and I don't know what disease they had, but I did not want to take a chance of getting it, so I kicked it away and abandoned my antenna and went back into the chaos of the academy that was now starting to feel like a big holding pen.

I saw a little girl that was getting roughed up by a teenage boy, and I smacked him to the floor and helped her up and drug her along with me as I continued my search through the crowds now looking for a way out and realizing this very well might not even be on my own planet and that "out" might not be something I really wanted. As in any chaotic human situation a sort of pecking order was being established and there were groups forming that were pushing their way through the crowds, assaulting people as they went and random violence was everywhere around me.

I kept it in mind that these groups were still kids and that I should not hurt anyone if I could avoid it but was not going to let the little girl be hurt no matter what, but we were barely able to avoid these violent youths several times. This dream went on and on for a long time it seemed. Very odd and very realistic dream.

Peace...

So for the first time in several years, I actually awakened remembering a part of a dream. I rarely remember dreams and had thought that perhaps I didn't dream anymore.

Someone complimented me on my smoke-able flowers which I had just shared.

I don't know who it was. I don't know where we were. Only that we had just shared a bowl.

I'm not sure why, but I had a sense of "accomplishment" or pride at being complimented.

Weird, huh?

Regardless, at least I have personal proof that I still dream. Whew! I was beginning to wonder.

Myc, there are alot of people who think they do not dream because they do not remember them. There are quite a few ways to improve dream recall. I would be happy to help you if you want. Most of the techniques are simple mental conditioning, training your mind to better recall, and awareness of the dream cycle. You do dream, every night.

I have taught a few people here like you, that thought they only rarely dreamed, to improve the recollection of details and the frequency of their remembered dreams with dreamstones. This is actually a conditioning of your subconcious to expect to remember, and improve the quantity of recalled details. It is the acquisition and programming of the stones that creates triggers to help you with this.

Smoking a lot of pot severely inhibits my dream recall. I had always read that but dreamed what I considered to be "often enough" when I was growing. However, after stopping growing and almost completely stopped smoking, man my dreams went full on Technicolor and I began to get on top of the whole lucid dreaming thing. It was amazing and I look forward to my dreamscape every night now.

Last night I dreamed that I had a vial of liquid acid, and that I took a large dose and I am still trying to figure out how to explain a dream trip. Everything went into motion and everything was alive and waving and moving. It was taking pieces of several trips I had and was sort of half memory and half imagination and it was an amazing experience. In the dream we were sitting out on the hillside out front and looking at the sky moving and churning like a huge nebula, and the ground was swelling and moving like a deep rolling ocean as we held one another and grooved on the sky. In the dream I was utterly happy and full of love and jubilation. It was so very real and amazing.

I may see if the wife is up to tripping tonight. Maybe it is foreseen, although I don't have a vial of liquid acid I can get by with some blotter I think lol. However I have a mission to complete at 7:00 pm in doing a healing for a friend and not going to ingest anything mind altering until that is taken care of. Today would be a beautiful night to sit outside and groove on the universe and I am well rested and in a good place for that.

Last night I dreamed of this big warehouse area that is on the waterfront and is so old that it is being literally reclaimed by the ocean, with some of the buildings having tidal pools and areas of water in them. The floors are very rough and some areas are covered in barnacles near the tidal pools and are incredibly sharp and dangerous should you fall down. In this dream I was on sort of an adventure, causing a ruckous with the owners somehow. I had a partner in this criminal pursuit and it was a guy I grew up with who was and is always in trouble. He is in prison as I write this.

In the dream we climbed and jumped around the inside of these warehouses, climbing over stock that was stacked 30 ft high and leaping from place to place. It seemed to be mostly a lark and we were just vandalizing and doing random damage. At one point the stack I was on fell over dumping me into one of the shallow tidal pools and I managed to lucidly guide myself to a deeper spot so I would not get cut on the barnacles. I  swam back to the edge and climbed out to be taken into custody by a gang of longshoremen who were def not cops and intended me harm. Out of nowhere my partner came and swooped me up on some sort of motorized amphibious contraption with tracks around the wheels that went very fast.

There was a lot more to the dream, including creatures swimming in the tidal pools and more adventure but the details are fading now. In a past dream I accessed an underworld through a bottomless tidal pool in a similar old warehouse, so this dreamscape I have been to before.

This morning I woke up during an end of the world dream. WW3 scenario. I was on a waterfront near a big cruise ship when sirens started going off. We (the wife and I) immediately ran back up the gangway to the ship thinking this was a tsunami siren or maybe an earthquake siren. As we got to the ship I heard planes, lots of planes. I looked up to see a virtual cloud of bombers flying towards us. Thinking OMG they are going to bomb the hell out of us and that it had been a bad decision to get back on the ship, we began to look for a way to get below deck. As my wife ran down a flight of steps, I stopped in awe as the planes seemed to hit a virtual wall in the sky and be destroyed just as portrayed in a few end of the world movies I had seen, as if the hand of God was striking them down from the sky.

I ran below and listened to the destruction as we kept trying to find a way deeper and deeper down into the ship. After a while it seemed that most of the excitement was over, and we returned to the deck only to find that we had sailed. There were not that many people to be seen and there were military types that had somehow taken over. They gathered people together into a main ballroom type of place until there were maybe a hundred of us all together.

They began to separate us all by race, or their perceived impression of our race. My wife and I were thrown in with anyone who even looked to have some Native American blood in them and cordoned off into the hold. We began to discuss our situation and to my surprise nobody else had seen the planes struck from the sky. As I explained what I had seen people were either in awe at the Glory of God or were skeptical and openly hostile for some reason. They demanded to know WHY the planes had been destroyed by an unknown power, but that I could not explain except for it was foretold in the bible and I was not much of a believer in that either and tried to empathize with their disbelief.

We then began to look for a way out of our confined space which was all steel and rivets and locked and sealed steel hatch doors. Ships are a maze of passages though, and I was sure we would find a way out and we eventually found a way into the Anglo-Irish section and again I told what I had seen, and someone else backed up what I had said about the planes. Again we began to look for a way out. This section had living compartments and behind the headboard of a bed, I found a section of removable wall that had a hatch behind it.

We all piled into that small door and found ourselves in a passage on the hull of the ship looking for a way to get somewhere else. I woke up then and was still immersed in the scene and amazed at the planes falling out of the sky by the hundreds. Crazy dream!

I am like this all the time but when awake... it's almost like being in a permanent dream state though I am actually awake and functioning (mostly)

I don'y usually sleep for more than a couple of hours a night, but I have very vivid dreams and keep a notebook by the bed so I can write them down on waking. I have been doing this for years but have never had any interpreted. It  may be interesting to post some of the less insane and weird ones on here and see what others make of them.
