Dipole Grows Burma

Hi Dipole 

 

I have never had that happen to me with regards to the spore not dropping, I have only had light and dark prints, but then again I have never grown bruma so a more experienced member will have to chime in sorry bud,

 

may I ask the verm you used to roll did you bake it at all? I place mine in a folded foil bag and bake @160 Celsius for 30min with the oven door just open a little so I can smell and monitor it, after dunking I just shake off excess water then roll I don`t dry the cakes I am sorry you lost a cake it happens and that`s why you should have a few projects on the go, sending good vibes your way for the remaining cakes.

I added water to the verm in a bowl until I get the balance right.

I put it in the microwave oven a bring up to steamy hot.

I cool the verm to room temp.

Then I prep the cakes and chamber for the next flush.

 

The weather has been hot and rather humid.

That might be a problem.

I hope I can get a print the next time around.

I am slipping up.

I turned the same room I shroom in,

into a cannabis flowering barn.

I pulled the curtains so the ladies

could build up those hormones.

It took my dumb ass 3 days

to figure out why my cakes aren't popping.

So I have been opening the curtains during the day.

 

Now after 3 days of light...

The fatty's have been growing for a few days.

I picked earlier before for spore prints.

I am waiting a bit in hopes that I picked too soon before.

Not a spore to be seen in that well opened cap.

I would usually print at this point.

Should I put it to foil?

Hiya Dipole

 

those are nice and big fruits for cakes you have there cuz, as I said before I have not grown this strain so maybe a member who has will help, but I do notice that the gills are like PE and those are hard to get prints from also, normally when the veil breaks you will start to see the purple spores dropping on it, so I am not sure what advice to give, I can only think try print again and maybe try take a swab with a ear bud from under the gills and then swipe that on agar and see if it takes?

Not on the regular but I have had some that have dropped very little to no spores at all. But rare.

I dunked the cakes and set them up for one more flush.

Two of the cakes are probably done, they are so small.

It is amazing how the two monster shrooms consumed those cakes.

 

Some of the shroom drying on a plate dropped spores.

So I set out two more print setups

A big cap and a small one.

The small one has dropped spores.

The big one nothing, so far.

I will take pics later.

I have a big cap going, but no spores.

The gills are blueing.

Some of the big ones on my plate dropped spores while drying,

so I will let my big cap go for a while.

 

I really hope I do not loose this line.

I haven't made any new LC jars.

I got quite a few big ones off this last flush.

I didn't get pics of all of them.

I have had much better success getting spore prints, sort of.

I managed to get a much better print

I had a cap with a dark looking set of gills.

After the last dunk, 3 rather spent looking cakes were not doing much.

So I thought I would try out an experiment.

Can I get another flush by getting more carbohydrates back into the cake.

 

So I made some dextrin by heating some corn starch in a porcelain bowl.

Somewhere around 400F for an hour usually does the trick.

 

Tastes like an old postage stamp,

or that crappy golden colored glue

grammar school kids could use,

because it was edible.

 

I dissolved 10g of dextrin in a 1/2 cup of water.

Add a little water at first to work from a paste down to a slurry.

Boil. Cool.

 

I put 3 cakes into 3 jars. 

I poured the dextrin solution,

in equal amounts into the 3 jars.

I dunked as above for 24 hours.

I washed and dried the cakes off,

and did the simple casing again.

The 3 cakes are in their own chamber.

I wonder if they will flush again,

or explode in a cloud of green spores.

Yikes.

Good thread Dipole!  I'm looking forward to seeing how that Dextrin works out for you.  I would probably rinse the cake verrry well when it came out of the dip.

Thanks Sidestreet.

I put each cake under the kitchen faucet

and rinsed all sides off as well as possible.

Then I dried the cakes well with paper towels.

I wrapped a towel around the cake to soak up any moisture.

So I hope the surface is not too inviting for contams.

I got a few more fruits off of 2 cakes.  The dextrin cakes did not make a move.

The grow is over.

I will make everclear extract with them.

 

I got several good spore prints, so I am happy.

I would like to try the LC.

The grow yielded 45.5g dried.

I am polishing some everclear to make something useful.  I hope.

Extracts don't seem to work well for me.

Ever tried grinding the shrooms up and putting them in capsules? That may help with the stomach issues and you would be able to dose normally without extractions.

For me they mess up my stomach only if I dont chew the crap out of them, and I make sure to drink at least a cup of water so it's not just mushroom material sitting in stomach acid.

Thanks for checking out my thread and ingestion problems.

The first time I tried shrooms was exactly that.

Around 1/2g of powdered B+ in big gel caps. 4 of them.

I got them down no problem and I was good for an hour.

At 15 minutes before that hour I started having a good time.

Then I got some bad aching followed by a thorough purge.

i am afraid my Norse heritage,

perhaps that Neanderthal gene acting up,

has a serious problem with shrooms.

The smell of them is not at all pleasant.

I think an EToH extraction is what your gonna be after, that should not extract anything but two compounds....it will be "clean" and feel different, well it does to me...I feel like I don't get the whole spiritual experience...just good visuals.
