I'm just joining in and catching up with you folks. Lots of nice work going on here and certainly worth a re-read.

Mushrooms just became legal where I live so I decided to get out the old spore collection from back in the good ol days.

Poured some MEA and inoculated from some old prints I've had for a day or two. Curious to see if anything takes off.

I had prints of :

"P. Tampanensis"

"P. Galindoi"

"P. Atlantis"

"P. Zapatecorum - Jalisco, Mexico, Sawmill"

All of the prints are very old - early 2000's - so they're ranging in age from 10 years to 18 years old. Most of them were very faint - barely a whisper of spore material present. Not sure what will come of this but I'm holding out hope for some germination.

The plan is to grow in spawnbags for stone production at first. I've also been combing the vaults for fruiting substrates so as to able to harvest some prints. Will likely get around to strain isolation and tissue cloning once the results start coming in. The experiments will be on Annual Rye Grass Seed as used for planting pastures. I've used it for years and know my source so I'm assured it is organically grown and free of any additives or preservatives - safe for food production.

I'll post up a pic if I manage anything of interest. Thanks for the read ladies and gentlemen.

Nice progress Faht. How'd you get those grown in only a week?

Makes me wanna try a new batch, but I gotta wait till later in the winter when I've got more time.

LOL, all the mycs have their own unique smells! Once you work with non-cubes you start questioning why you subject yourself to moldy dicks...

Woodies are almost cucumber/sweet, pans were less cubey I suppose, gourmets are so damn wonderful smelling (from almost anise to pure umami)

Tamps do have a different smell, like a Floury sort of dough smell(farinaceous), it's Mild compared to any of The Regular Cubes or the real Stinky PE's or Hybrids I've harvested.  Barely noticeable comparatively.  Reishi is one of my favorite when it comes to it's odor, and growing any Polypore is always a fun adventure.

They will flush many times and get bigger and easier to print as time progresses, and you will get the feel for them.  I initially ran Tamps in an old Mono Tub with very loose poly and 3-4 lid exchanges(per day) and did decent.  They do love the air and WET conditions.

None of my cultures have started running yet. Fahtster, please keep me in mind for some genetic materials. Maybe we could work out a trade or some other arrangement while I continue to employ other revivification strategies in an attempt to revive - This Old Sporeprint.

I'm impressed by the rapid colonization and fruiting times. Your project looks pretty promising. Subsequent flushes should get larger fruits as mentioned above.

edit:

Matter of fact, anyone reading this thread who has fresh genetics for sale or trade (stone producers), please PM me.

I'll keep working with the materials I have on hand. Found two more prints over the last couple of days so inoculation and testing will continue.

If I get some prints, I’ll definitely send ya one, np. I got my genetics from SW.. went straight to GLC grains. Love SW… always clean syringes. The only company I know of that uses a centrifuge to get clean SS (others might but I haven’t heard of them advertising that)

I have Tamps going as well Again, they aren't the easiest to print, but they will and I'll get a big round going soon of prints.  Tamps are amazing and need to be experienced and shared.   :meditate:

Lets see if we can get a few prints out of these First Rounders.  22 Caps, hoping 50%, but NOT likely.  No worries, MANY fruits to bear and try for More.  Stone only project is a MUST this Winter... I need some Rye berries.  In due Time.

Some Fruit Pics, I'm sure I'll get some stones later popping through the Casing.
