Damn.... All these pretty trays are making it hard to patiently wait to start a round of tamps.

Maybe i will just soak some grains tonight and decide in the morning.

Flush 1.5 (left a few small fruits when I picked the first one—it dried down to 11.8g)

Thinking I’m gonna just pull em all maybe tomorrow to see if I can get some larger fruits to start growing

They really love Air to develop the Cap, your stipes look super healthy so a few exchanges... you will get them dialed in I have NO doubt.  Ended up with 10/22 prints, 8 were light and two were nice and thick prints(Combined the 8 light ones and put two each for 4 actual prints).  What's ironic is I did another round of Caps this morning and their are 22 again.  Weird coincidence... probably, but that type of "lucky" weirdness happens to me all the time.  Random thought, I also noticed the best prints were from the older wavy(ish) type of caps that were more swollen rather than thin and flat.  I only went for the wavier ones this morning, we will see if the percentage goes up, but it could be just random "luck".  Cultivate on Mush Maniacs.

Hey bez!

Ive been messing around with the ready brown rice bags lol
Knocked this up with gandoli, let it colonize, put it in the fridge to kinda snap it cold and stress the myc to produce the stones. This was one bag from dec 9th.

Anyony care to share potential weights and expectations?
As ive never had a chance with these until now.
I have them in the fridge for now

Those are some SOLID Stones there @Boebs, No judgment on the pre-sterilized rice bags  .... Hahahaha It's like I always say, whatever gets you to the finish line... IS all that matters.  Hey, thanks for reminding me to check on my jars, 2 of them are looking SO crazy with stone formations.  Well Done Sir.   :meditate:

time.  I'm probably just going to spawn this to Manure and get some fruits going

on and probably stones popping through the casing as well.

I put a couple bags of clean sub in the bottom of a 22 gallon trashcan with some compost, soil and pea gravel at the bottom. I hooked up a mister to a waterline on a timer. Much to my happy surprise, maybe a month later, I found these A strain Mexicana starting to fruit. Hopefully the fruiting will continue and spread across the entire surface. I also hope the other trashcans with Caerulescens and the Australian sect. Zap. surprise me too. :)

i like that Mex pic with the grass growing in it yoshi.
Here's a tray of Mex A from BRF jar after the stones were harvested.

20220604_111840~2.jpg

And a little bit of tampanensis. I took the picture after pulling about 10 fruits out...in retrospect I wish I woulda took the pic before.

20220604_112048~2.jpg

And I finally got some Tampa prints so I can revisit the grow down the road

20220604_112846.jpg

I decided I really like the taste of fresh Mex and Tampa fruits. Way more than the taste of cubes.

Those trays look really nice Oldpunk and you got prints, congrats!

The taste and feeling of them are so much better! I keep telling myself I'm going to stop growing cubes, it'll happen eventually.

But there's just SO MANY cool cubes to pick from. I've got several years worth to try growing out and I get excited everytime I see a new one grow.

Better edit this. Cuz there's a lot of exotics to grow too and I was even more excited about the Tampa after a couple failed grows

I haven't "tested" that many exotics yet but so far, subtropicalis/semperviva might be the #1. Natalensis is really nice too......and mexicana and panaeolus and..... :)

In their defense, cubes are a lot of fun to grow.

So........friends and neighbors. I've never grown truffles before (I've always pursued woodloving psilocybes) but I know what I"m looking at by your generous display of photos from your own discoveries. All of the jars and trays have really helped given that I didn't know what to expect or observe.
I'm posting some photos of growth that I found interesting in that the mycelium reached from the rye grass seed substrate to harvest the condensate from the inside of the grow-bag.

I find it further interesting to observe that sclerotia formation is occurring on the thin mycelial mat that constitutes the "frontier" mycelium as well as within the block of seed.

These were all from March 8 and March 18th - inoculation from quart jars to spawn bags.

Quart jars were started from direct spore application to agar culture via dry spore transfer directly from the print to the agar surface.

Growth was observed within 5 days and the resultant colonized mycelium was transferred to sterilized grass seed in quart jars.

A laminar-flow sterile workstation was employed for all stages of aseptic work.

The plan is to harvest stones and spawn a larger substrate. H-poo, coir, verm,........outdoors. Or maybe I'll fire-up the Martha Closet again........ 9 x 4 lbs bags............I have options.

After all, an experiment is an experiment. Lots of room for failure or success.

I want to offer a special thanks to A. Friend who was generous enough to trust me with a print of this strain. You know who you are. I haven't forgotten.

Double posting - but adding some (hopefully) valuable commentary.

Note the darkened vascular network. It reminds me of Morel cultivation. You not only have to capture the fungal network, but also the specific bacterial network (as they both work together to make the truffles).

These bags have had a bacterial infection - some more, some less - throughout their development. Some of the bags inflated to the point to where I used a scalpel, impulse sealer, and flowhood to release gas. The resultant gas smelled of healthy psilocybe mycelium so I continued the experiment.

I found this to be weird and worthy of notice. I have yet to "gas off" two other bags.

Progress to follow if there is any interest.

What's goin' On Stone cultivators, just testing 2 jars of Coffee-soaked Oats and one of the jars is going crazy FAST (the other jar is fine and has spots of growth, but not like this Jar).  I didn't have any success with regular prep of Oats without the coffee.  I tried with Tamps and Mexi A, and... NOWAY... wasn't happening.  The good news is, there is no waste, spawned to bulk for fruits and back up prints.  Really enjoying experimenting with these, this jar looks like it's going to be a GIVER.  Ya'll take care and Be Safe in the upcoming Holiday.   :smoking-hookah:

Tamp Jar, second Round of stones that were just over 5 months old (LC back in Late November, colonized early December), put back in the jar(5.5.22), 2-3 days to recover and was back at it.  The possibilities with these are amazing and I was so mad at the mislabeled syringe and NOW... a Blessing in disguise NO doubt.  Fun Guy Stuff for Life.
