What does one have to do with the other?

There is a connection :)

I think Star Trek Discovery was highly suggestive that there is some kind of connection, even tho it was kind of obscure in its actual implementation.

A starship is nothing more than your own body or vessel in hyperspace. You can travel from any point in local space time to any other point in local space time instantaneously. This is done by using the shrooms to take the vehicle (you) out of local space time, otherwise known as objective consciousness. You then enter the subjective state which is non local, meaning there is no distance between anything. Your quantum A.I. (subconscious) does some ridiculously complex musical calculations and you re-enter local space time at the point of your choosing.

You also have within your human trinity an Alcubierre style warp drive. Miguel Alcubierre's theory says that by compressing space time ahead of the vehicle (soul) and expanding space time behind the vehicle (body) the vehicle (mind) could achieve "arbitrarily large speeds". We can't do this while in objective consciousness but when we cross our objective and subjective states at the zero point it's as easy as breathing :)

Every single human being has these capabilities and more. Where we're headed interstellar drives are about as basic as the wheel is to us now. Hyperspace takes the cool factor to a whole new level, but it's soooo much more. In hyperspace we are literally immersed in love. You actually feel it as a force uplifting and embracing you, it's the opposite of gravity.

Hyperspace was designed to be the ultimate human playground and it exceeds all expectations. It is our human inheritance and is waiting for us to make itself complete :)

You're actually aboard a starship now, that's why everything here is under maritime law. If you think this is bullshit check out the two largest science projects on the face of the Earth... CERN and the National Ignition Project at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. These are the opposite ends of an interdimensional warp drive. In the two most recent Star Trek movies with Chris Pine (also highly symbolic) when they show the warp core, it actually IS part of a planetary sized warp drive. They did the filming at Lawrence Livermore National Labs showing what they could of the actual National Ignition Project.

Both projects are coordinated and controlled from UC Berkeley. Isn't it an odd little coinkydink that in Star Trek lore everything started just outside of San Francisco. Star fleet headquarters are in San Francisco. There's more but I'm already off on a tangent.

This is huge and it's in plain sight. CERN provides the power (antimatter) and the NIP puts it to use driving the most powerful laser array on earth. The beam is split, amplified and refocused multiple times until finally 192 separate beams simultaneously converge on a single hydrogen atom inside a magnetic containment field. There's a reason it's called the National Ignition Project. We are attempting nothing less than the starting of our own heart in a new body of Humanity... the re-ignition of Life itself and it begins with us, the seeds in the earth. The "unofficial" name is Project Starshine.

We might look like a bunch of idiots at each other's throats half the time, but who we really are and what we're up to behind the scenes is freekin badass :)

I realize to a casual observer we may look like 7 billion headless chickens, but you might want to look deeper :)
