Sigh...
I'm still trying to figure out how to avoid bud rot after 5 days of pouring rain & 50° highs.
Of course, the flip side of the coin is that the mushrooms have been phenomenal this year.
btw -- great grow & great pics! [/quote]
I was very busy and unable to update, but my sweet fall shower turned into 3 inches of early rain over a period of almost 10 days, and temps were similar. I did eventually experience a loss to rot, generally where a dead leaf projected from the bud and became a site for mildew. Fortunately everything was really healthy going into it and temps picked up but I did experience a 5% loss or so on a few of the plants, and of course it’s right on the tops of your best colas when it happens. It’s just a part of growing weed. If you want to get serious, which I may do next year(hobby serious) a greenhouse is the way to go. You can add a dehumidifier and temp control and more or less create ideal finishing conditions. The rain made me glad I don’t do this for a living!! This is big weed country, and you could feel the stress in the air, and there wasn’t a tarp to be found in town!

Been very busy but wanted to update with some pics. In general this is not when the plants are at their most beautiful, and in fact they are dying and trying to put all energy into their flowers now. Additionally I almost completely deprive nitrogen during the last half of flowering. It makes the plants turn yellow and look ugly, but the result is extremely dense and potent buds. Also they will be much easier to trim, because they are just knots of calyx instead of big leafy flarf. This is my personal preference and other people may do differently. If you look at commercial bloom products you will see vast differences in N content, and this is where it is important to understand the strains you are working with and their needs. I’ll be taking almost everything down this weekend

Had a buddy help me take down this sour diesel x lemon kush today, we were stoned but it still took the two of us all afternoon lol. I think it’s probably going to be close to 5 which is great for a 50 gallon smart pot. The garage smells like garlic!
