The Beckley Foundation and Imperial College London are excited to launch a new, innovative study on psychedelics microdosing. The objective of the study is to test whether psychedelics microdosing has any effects beyond the placebo on psychological well-being and cognitive function.
The unique component of this study is a set-up procedure that allows self-experimenters to implement their own placebo control. We call this a ‘self-blinding’ study design. Self-blinding both increase the scientific merit of the study and introduces an interessting guessing game for the participants - did I take a microdose or a placebo today? This element of unknown will make the microdosing experience more engaging and self-reflective as well.
