I was inspired by @wildedibles so I went out this morning for a quick walk of the back 40 and found lots of neat fungi too....hope everyone has a wonderful day, this was an amazing way to start the day, I'll be taking lots of foraging adventures in the future. Peace

Today I was finishing up the yard from the hurricane and it had rained last night...look what I spotted this afternoon...the famed Purple Mystic...

Big rains, a cold front and the weather shifts to the 45-60F days we call winter....first time seeing these little guys....found a few clusters here and there in the grass while out checking the pepper plants.

nice to still see mushrooms I have some under the snow I bet :) Thanks for sharing lovin he thread .... I like having all the mush I find in one thread easier to find but the info from year to year spots weather conditions and pictures show how the habitats are changing or staying the same in my area ) others doing it we cn make notes on mutiple areas all over the world :) I have a busy no snow time and I slow right down come cold winter not much to find but polypores and chaga.....

my buddy Po is a good hunter for chants :) he had a hard time smelling them out this year it was too dry hen they started and most didnt develope aborted :( so the little patch I know of I think I took 3 out of 10 it was a dry year

I get a flush of them in my back yard twice a year, biggest is in the spring, its about a 20x20' area that just is covered....I always take one, leave one till I get my bowl full.....I'm not good on ID, know some of the easy ones but got this tool now to help with my mycology studies...

I use this site a bunch now, with this ID tool ...  https://www.mushroom...jor_groups.html

Prolly everyone but me knew about it till awhile ago, lol....old and slow these days. Thanks for dropping by.

The dead cake pile is always flushing....year round.

Cold front coming through...temps in the low 50's down to the high 30's for a few days...rain comes then the cold...so last nights rain brought another flush of much needed medicine.
