Being that mycotopia Rocks and i no longer post at the shroomery I figured it was only fair that I post this photo set here..
Originally i posted this at shroomery as Acadian coast but upon further review Im positive this was PESA

on your shroomies?
Does that mean anything? and if so, is it strain related
because it seems to me that shrooms with such a bulky
veiness turn into pretty big monsters

when i say old way i mean specifically for me....
i have changed my way of doing things as i got better at it..
but basically this is
pftek
cased with coir...
in tub with a nightlight for light and a vase with a bleach solution and air stone/pump
nothing too special.

I have been hung up on my dung fetish the last few years...
Maybe I should go back to my roots and play around a little - hell people still think I'm nutz for using wbs for substrate in trays with straight verm for casing. I know one thing the thai strains luv it!

Using BRF cakes using the PF tek....
Simply cased with coir pasteurized/sterilized lol in a house that wasnt very clean.....
It worked well for a very long time... I would smoke in the same damn room no bigger then 12 by 12 that i did all my incubation and fruting in lol! I cant believe it ever worked but it did!
i dont recommend that to anyone but its just a testament to how easy this is to do if done correctly.
These days im working on popcorn again, a continuation of where i left off 2 or so years ago... now exploring the wonders of poop/straw/popcorn combo using a variation of bonzais Nugget tek..
Will post those results as they happen :)
thanks for the bug ups people!

I have not had any real problems, I think the most important thing is making sure your popcorn is well rinsed after the first steaming of the popcorn. And that the water content of the popcorn is just right.
I have read soaking over night helps also, but I have chosen not to do this and have never had any problems.
Most importantly if your popcorn looks starchy, make sure to rinse really well..

...would you recommmend crumbling about 3 cakes....into a sterile container....
let it rest for a couple days then case with coir? Is this correct?
I'd also like to know your advice on doing a tub of substrate with coir.
Im plannin on doing this soon, using a airpump for air exchange and
crumbling about 6-10 pint pfcakes with coir. :dance:Would i mix the coir and the
cakes together in the tub, let it be for a few days to recover and then
add another layer of moist coir on top after that?
Or would i...
just do
everything at once, meaning mix some coir and the cakes together
afterwards top it off with some moist coir all at the same time? Just wanting
to know your advice- Since your tub of PESA looks great! :kewl:
