Hi,

Gonna build DIY flowhood.

Looking for a filter.

I guess ebay and china/Hong kong seller with free international shipment might be my best option.

I ended up with ton of vacumecleaner filters that might fit some basic hepa but not h16.

using ulpa in search gives 0 result.

alibaba offers some but they seem to be for business/ retail - I did not find seller that would ship only few units with free international shipment.

Has someone found nice one and could share a link? Thank you for reading and hopefully link too :)

Prices for H14 HEPA filters start from bit under 200 usd and for U15 ULPA filter they start bit over 200 usd. And they keep going until well into 4 fig. prices.

Ordering from US is troublesome since shipping costs are quite high.. china/ HK ebay sellers offer free shipping due to favorable pricing there (why I am looking that way).

as said, pointers and help wanted

Hi, thanks for popping in..

I ordered a no-name cheap hepa filter from ebay for a fraction of local H14/U15 cost.

It guess it is H12. H12 at best and H10 at worst.  moderate size .. 15"by 10" or so..

as there are so much guesswork and un-knowns  - descriptions are annoyingly generic... I rather wait and see the product at very least and would prefer to install it and use it few times but this could take a while .. we shall see how things move along.

verifying MPP capturing efficiency seems next to impossible in home environment.

if nothing else .. I can use it as mid filter to protect final H14 / U15. So carbon scrubber > cheap H12 > expensive H14 or H15.

nothing set in stone and few ideas floating around.. we shall see.
