I spawned a 2 pints of Jalisco to my usual hpoo mix. 1 pint per 1lb bag of hpoo mix.

They colonized very quickly, I then cut the tops of the bags off, cased with 60/40 Jiffy/vermiculite, and popped em in my trusty Martha.

Pins took about 12 days, give or take, and appeared at the same time in both casings.

I plan on printing a bunch to donate to the community, I will let you all know when to ask.

Also, sorry about the picture quality. My lens is broken, and I didnt want to remove them from the Martha.

What was the spawn to sub ratio for those bags?

These were done at a 1 to 2 ratio rye to bulk. 1 pint per 1 lb poo bag.

Fantastic work, well done, I love these mushrooms. I have recently setup a Martha for fruiting P. mexicana and P. hoogshagenii, hoping it will give me more success than my previous FC setup.

Do you have a link or any information detailing your bulk substrate hpoo mix? I'd like to emulate this. I'm growing P. Mexicana 'Chicon Nindo' and I hope to take abundant prints of them to give back to the community.

Have you sampled these mushrooms before? I only ever hear rave reviews...enjoy!

I usually use the 1lb bags of hpoo sub from out-grow. It's an hpoo, coir, verm, and gypsum sub. Also some other things. I asked Mike the owner, but I can't tell you specifically. Using just those ingredients in most ratios will work wonderfully as long as the hydration is right...

As for sampling, not Jalisco yet, but fresh Tampanensis blow cubensis out the water. So clean colorful and bright. Like ecstacy with dramatic visuals. I literally get these whole body orgasms that run through my whole body.

Wow, these things are prolific! They grow like weeds.

I want to be able to print at least a dozen caps, but they're so fragile it's going to be difficult. The caps are paper thin. I also don't know when the spores start to drop. I might do a test sheet of caps in different stages to see when it's best to print.

Don't worry, if I can I will be donating a bunch to my fellow Topiates.

What a fantastically bountiful and beautiful flush, you should be proud, great job!! May I ask you what environmental conditions you have going on in your Martha? Average temperature and humidity? I'm assuming you use a mister or humidifier, do you have it on a hydrotherm/thermostat controller or a timer...if the latter how long do you run it for, and how often? What do you do for FAE, do you fan, and if so for how long and how often? I want to replicate your conditions as best I can in my Martha for my own Mexicana grow. Many thanks, and happy growing.

Read though the whole thread bc the Martha evolves as I am trying to dial it in.

But I do it all by eye, so to speak. No sensors or whatever.

Once it's in the Martha it's set and forget, except for a misting every couple days to keep the casing really moist. Mexicanas like it really wet. Even with the casing 95%RH isn't too high.

So I could do a bag of the alt #7 or tamp just like this? I thought I read the sub needed to be thinner then those bags will let me?

Sure can. That's how I did my Tampanensis grow, too. It's on flush 6 Btw.

When I spawn I do my best to flatten and make the substrate tight against the bottom of the bag. It takes a little fiddling, but you can get the sub in an even 2 inch layer using our bags if you spread it out, pull the sides of the plastic so the base gets a bit bigger. Maybe I can take a video of my next spawn and show you. It's simple but I'm making it sound complicated.

Edit- as long as it's not 4 or 5 inches thick, it should do okay.

Flush 2 on both bags coming in. Pinning is very heavily clustered like 1st flush.

This time I will try and get good prints. I waited too long 1st flush.

The last pic is of a fully colonized cube bag. I just want to show if you take your time and shape the bag you can get it down to a 2 inch sub very easily. Notice how nice and tight it is against the bag and how I took my time and leveled out the sub, but didnt compact it.

It's amazing how tightly clustered these grow. I wonder if they're clustered in the wild...

First off I want to say sorry to everyone, I wasnt able to get prints. This whole thing with FedEx losing my LFH threw me off. Apologies to anyone waiting for spores.

I did, however, try to print 8 caps from the previous flush, and the dry caps were still sitting in the container. They probably didnt even weigh .1g. Anyway, After I split the sheet in 2 and put them in baggies, I popped em in my mouth for lack of better place to put em.

I was seeing everything lined with neon and tracers for the rest of the day. I cannot believe how strong these thing are. Closed and open eyed visuals WTF.

I can't wait for normal temperatures so I can have a nice full trip on these. I need to be able to go outside, and winter isnt too good for that here. I can only imagine what 2g of these would do.

Fantastic! I've been really busy with work commitments that have superseded mushroom growing activities, will be getting my grow on in a few weeks though, and Mexicana will be a key focus (have some colonised jars standing by), so this is really great to hear! If and when you do get round to diving deeper with these, I for one would love to read a trip report if you were inclined to write one!
