Long story short is I bought off of Spore Traders on reddit because the guy is "Super Reputable". The strain was suppose to be Thai - Ban Hua Thanon.

The mycellium ravaged through the grain but then when I put it to substrate it to fruiting conditions it was taking forever. The three tubs I put the species in question into went into fruiting conditions 3 weeks ago and they all look the same. At about the 14 day mark I started noticing these obscure balls all white of mycellium with no cap on them. They looked like dough balls. At about the 17 day mark I notices tiny brown caps on the dough balls. I know the vendors number one and two species are PE and Uncut PE. So I am suspicious that he sent me penis envy.

I'm getting these fat mutant chodes of mushrooms in every single tub.

Now I'm not mad that I may have been dealt a stealth hand of Penis Envy but I am mad about not knowing. I would have grown these under different parameters had I known. You know maybe some Hpoo & casing layer more moisture extra fanning.

Here are the pictures every single tub that was suppose to be Ban Hua Thanon is starting to fruit these mutant chodes and every tub with Orissa India are giving me lovely fruits.

I went ahead and sourced some spores off of a much more reputable site that I know a lot of people use. My next grows will consist of B+, Golden Teacher, A+ Albino, & PES Hawaiian.

So here is the pictures in question let me know what you folks think.

Regards,
MM

They look infected. Did you just water them?

Yeah I just went wild with the misting on them. I'm like fed up with these three tubs. They all produced the same results.

Although I think mikey is right, in that they look wet, but IMO they look like PE.

They have the bulbous bottom with the heads than blend into the stem at the pin stage.

Yea I drenched them. I see what your saying they look wet and the dirt looks slimy like mucus. It litterally just got like that after heavy misting.

These things should be past there second flush now without a dunk. Because they just started fruiting

The blobs especially convince me. Regular PE are infamous for producing those on the first flush.

Relax, breathe. PE are much slower to fruit than most strains, and the 2nd flush shouldn't have the blobs.

In my situation it's a numbers game in regards to demand. I was expecting 2-3lbs dried, via multiple flushes, in my new monster sized tubs and I ended up with chodes & mycellium on its last leg.

It's a shame because I don't even feel like spawning this to substrate now and taking up valuable tub space. It's like 8lbs of happy healthy mycellium.

Well, on the bright side they're usually much more dense than most cubes. They don't lose nearly as much water weight, so it will weigh more than it looks.

The 2nd flush is going to be better.

This is also the biggest reason I keep to multiple, smaller projects. If a big one is disappointing, well, it sucks. If 1 or 2 small projects aren't up to par, it's no big deal.

Do you have more of those big filter bags?

If you do just split that between 4 or 5 bags, add the bulk substrate straight to the bag at a 1 to 1 ratio, and put them somewhere to forget about them. You'll get 1 to 2 oz dry from each bag per flush, no misting no fanning, and no space will be taken up in your FC.

If you're serious about tossing that, plz PM me before you do.

Honestly, I'm not sure that my mycellium can go through a second flush. Like I said I would have grown under different parameters had I known. I'll let it cycle through it's life until my Orissa grain to grains finish colonization. Then I'll need the space for something more familiar.

I'm really looking forward to starting my B+ & A+ Albinos when my supplies arrive. I know a lot of people start their mycology careers with B+ and I have yet to grow it yet. So I'm really looking forward to growing and experiencing them with friends.

Yea I have tons of bags I guess I could always go that route and grow in the bag. Didn't even think about it. Good idea

Check out some of my invitro threads. They're all done using those bags. I think youd be impressed, especially since they're all MS grows so far

My first couple grows were done in bags. I actually got pretty decent results. I've been an advocate of bags since I started.

I was gonna get some Zoo Poo and play around with some bag grows onces these tubs turned over. I'll end up bagging it I guess with the suspected PE.

Its really not likely someone accidentally sent you PE. Any cubiensis can present in that fashion.

Yea the it's slowly starting to pick up and Recover. The more they grow the less and less they appear penis envyish. It's starting to produce these beefy crazy looking shrooms.

The two tubs I'm currently growing of these both started out as chodes. The one that is further along is starting to produce heavy mushrooms. The one that is a week behind is in the chode stage.

My other variances of cubes are growing just fine it's just the offspring of this one syringe that started funky.

Here are some more current pics.

Not at all what I expected. I thought for sure those first pics you posted would be chodes.

They're still unique looking, though. Nice grow.

Yea they should be ready to pick tonight or tomorrow. It would be funny if the mini chode tub beats our my nice uniform mini tub of orissa in terms of total dried weight. I picked one chode two days ago and it didn't look the full 90% water weight that they normal loose in the Dehydrator.

I'll know in a day or two
