Found these gorgeous plants outside next to my "tvcasualty's wet towel tek" sterilite bin. Funny thing is, I haven't planted these in a couple years! They are lauren's grape papaver somniferum.

I have elected to not grow poppies... I am trying to live 100% opiate free... I didn't set that stuff down two Septembers ago to take chances and end up right back where I started....

Cool photo!

I'm baffled as to how these took 2-3 years to show up. Plus they're way off season, it's hot as balls here, I thought they liked spring times/temps.

Now I'm debating whether to just let them flower out or slit the pods and collect the latex. Opiates are the only thing that actually work on my ADHD and I never had a problem with them. I could do 10 percs a day for a week and then just go thru withdrawal and be done with them for a year..

Another rodeo pic.

That's a purdy.... uh um eh ah, young highland heifer? is a Dexter? It isn't very big... It has horns so its not a Galloway...

I've kinda always wanted a cowgirl of my very own!

Yeppers a nice cowgirl. And the horns are strapped on aren't they? Looks like a Highlander to me as well.

We have a couple farms here with Galloways, some really good looking cattle. I like the belted ones.

So I've been trying to use manual focus on the lens that's been giving me trouble, and lets just say my eye is not nearly as accurate as the AF when its working, lol.

Here is a rare bird indeed.  Not a great pic by any means, but it's just enough that I could ID the plane as what I'm pretty sure is a DC-4, just a handful of these still fly today.  These planes were what was used during the Berlin airlift after WWII.  I pretty sure this is one of two that I know of here in Alaska that are still used as  flying fuel tankers that deliver to remote villages around the state.

I don't get the opportunity to stop 4 props at once very often.  Wish I could have been a little quicker getting my camera and getting outside once I heard her.  Those four, 14 cylinder piston powered engines make a very distinct sound when she's running, you wouldn't confuse it with the sound of piper cub, lol.

I believe you are correct about the horns.  I don't know for sure, but I suspect you, and PJ are correct about it being a Highlander.  I cropped another pic tight around its head for a better look at the horns.

There was an archery shop near here many many years ago run by a man named Springer.

He marketed the Springer Doe Conversion Kit

which was a pretty package containing tiny forked antlers with double ended screws

one end of the screw into the bottom of the antler and the other end into the doe's skull

VOILA!

Doe converted

‘Horns’ are growing on young people’s skulls. Phone use is to blame, research suggests.

So I went on a 3 day camping trip into the wilds of Massachusetts at the Beartown State Forest in western Mass. As luck would have it, the entrance to the State Forest was a mere five miles from a Recreational Dispensary..

It was a great trip in several ways!  Well... except that bud costs 4 times as much as it does in Colorado as Mass has not had enough time for growers to meet the demand and build up their grow operations, but give it a year or two.

Anyhoo - I got some great pics here from my hiking.  Here is a little guy I found hiding in a tree scar (I saw several of these, but some of them look like faces or little gnomes).

gallery_147969_1708_1763804.jpg

Here is one that was looking over my camp site - guarding it for me.

gallery_147969_1708_372346.jpg

And a close up view without my hand

gallery_147969_1708_2326862.jpg

Here was a Beaver House on one of the many little ponds

gallery_147969_1708_342227.jpg

And some of the beavers handi-work

gallery_147969_1708_2283039.jpg

And I just thought this looked cool

gallery_147969_1708_772743.jpg

This tree looked like a skeletal hand with the flesh falling off. If you look carefully you can see a cool little mushroom.

Here is a closeup if you couldn't find it.  Its a bit fuzzy, but then I just have a cell phone camera.

I wonder how much longer it will be until this colt learns to fly.  Its growing really fast, but I think its still got quite a ways to go before it can fly.

Beautiful picture. Perhaps I misunderstood the challenge. I thought you meant live cactus. I am glad I didnt post more than I did. LOL, I am also glad I didn't cut off the offending appendages.
