Well, for me, the ten minutes had to be over half an hour. Nonetheless, I recommend the article.
It is sad that the author had to let this slip: "Now that the Silicon Valley social media behemoth corporations have hundreds of millions addicted to amusing themselves to death, they can decide what is acceptable speech and that which doesn’t conform to their left-wing views," while the bulk of the piece shows us a right-wing agenda being played out. The Jimmy Dore piece I posted about the admission that the Security (Deep) State, under the color of its authority, has been used to clearly suppress any thought it viewed as "left" by way its Operation Mockingbird ringers in media, from broadcast to publishing. We have all seen, whether we cop to it or not, that the truly functioning socialism has been in the subsidizing of military, industrial, and media corporate giants, at the cost of every facet of what were once, the commons.
God forbid, while the estimate of $21trillion stolen from the common wealth, that the medical and university systems not have our health and development as individual human beings to leverage any personal gains from us, under a threat to life and an economic slavery. Any question that a government of the people could pool resources for anything but propping up the already powerful is the Reaganesque Kool-Aid that government has no business helping all of us. When the opposition become the likes of the Clintons and Obamas, pretending that these are the "left," there remains no left (other than a useful bugaboo). We get the ball on the one yard line with ten of our players in the penalty box, while the other team is none other than the police state.
So yes, the system is broken, but it wasn't broken by people looking out for people. It is co-opted by the old, and new, rich, but mostly the old, as a few have been clever enough to steal big and find their ways in. If we hand the narrative over to the few who can afford to hire the followers of Edward Bernays, the Fascism we'll get will erode all the terms and will make us choose "right," or, "left," while the reality which plays out will be "top," or, "bottom."
Fascism is by definition, the corporate state. This is the reality of the day, and to quote George Carlin, "It's a
big [small] club, and you ain't in it."
