World's smallest fruiting chamber:

Parts of this plate went into a couple rye berry spawn jars after this pic:

I love it! Clone that thing, the genetics really seem to want to fruit, plus it's in a near-sterile environment so you could just put it straight onto new agar, let that grow out, and put a wedge on some grain or something. It might be high-yielding pheno.

I had a plate with a fruit growing off it that I was planning to clone but never did, which I was gonna make a LC from. It would be ideal to have clean LC that fruits predictably with big pinsets and fruits, that you can inoculate bags or jars with, then 2 weeks later it's ready to spawn.

I don't know about the variety, but I understand the species is Psilocybe cubensis, and the strain is golden teacher.

Great strain, I have some prints from my G.T. that I need to get out and put to agar. Right now I'm busy with B+ and Burma. So you ate the lil bugger huh?

Ha, yes, but I'd say about 1/2 microdose at best!

I don't usually weigh out microdoses, and I've accidentally ate too many a couple times, lol makes work interesting.

...and a mere two-plus-months later, short and fat. The base of the center specimen has a hint of blue green - and a torn veil?

Those don't look anything like any GTs I have seen. They look almost like PE with veils.

Do you have any pics of the mother clone? I find it very interesting how clones can differ from the parents.

Either way, way to grow buddy.

Or Burma possibly.

At any rate that first pic looks like your Agar is um..... "Excited to see you."

Good Job!

More babies - they grow up so fast...

No pix of mother. Salvaged it out of a contaminated spawn jar as an afterthought and transferred it a few times in agar to eliminate the contamination and get a good looking sector for new spawn jars.

Question:

This first flush is not uniform, and I don't want to run the dehydrator for just a few specimens. Can they be picked and put into a plastic bag and refrigerated - and for long before trouble?

Nice, C&B - if that's MS to agar then maybe clone that little guy.

Spakk, you should be good for up to 3-4 days (baggie in the fridge), by which point you should have enough for a dehydration run. I do that when flushing just begins.

A sealed bag will be OK for a few days for sure. If going longer perhaps open the bag. And if you have a ton o' fruits, like a few hundred gm then they could be more likely to go bad if all together for a week or more. Doesn't sound like the case, but for large amount, I'd recommend a perforated bag like sometimes fruits come in. Or if you have a bunch, wrap them in a couple of dish towels, put them in the fridge and they'll get plenty of ventilation and in the worst case they'll just slowly dry out.

I've never had too much luck refrigerating live fruits, if I have to delay drying, I pick the fruits and just place something over them to prevent drying, allowing them to stay alive for another 12-24hrs and then dry them.

I put it to agar. I thought that I put this here already, but I must have put it somewhere else. It's a fun debate between old men:

I'd reccomend a paper bag instead. Theyll stay fresh like that for about a week, but will lose some water weight. So weigh them before you put them in the bag, bc if you wait a few days it will throw off the dosing. If you put say, 30g in the bag, they might only weigh 15 or 20 after a week in the fridge.

If you at that 15g fresh after a week in the fridge, it's still technically a 30gdose, just less water.

Guess where I harvested?

I'm just putting them in a tote and drying with a fan this time around.
