Red Bulgur as Spawn

I'm assuming that process would've removed alot of the starch, and it should be relatively sterile, its food grade and doesnt evem need a rinse...
Any ideas on how to prep it? It says it cooks in 15 min, so I was thinking a 5 to 8 min simmer, drain well, put in jar and PC? Anyone have any suggestions?

I think you are correct in the short simmering time.
If you did the 15 minutes with the core of the whet exposed it's going to be very soft and have a tendency to clump.
With that being said the challenge will be getting the moisture content right.
If using it for spawn failed one could use it for a nutritious substrate for a grain loving Thai strain.

I'd bring it to a boil and turn it off, judge from there, Probaly end up being the same time frame same result. But I like boiling things.
This stuff would probably be a good candidate for no prep, water and grain straight to jars and in the pc.

Red bulger = cracked wheat that is parboiled. Sounds like a total disaster. Wheat can get mushy in the center (endosperm) and with this being cracked already it will probably be a mess.
