There should be plenty of genetics in MS syringes, even when you can't really see spores, at least that's something I've been told. I've always had dark globs in syringes I have bought, but the ones I made not so much, they worked fine for me though.

I see now there are probably some good genetics in this strain/spore producer's product. It is a kind of see until you believe kind of thing, since you can't see the spores you don't really KNOW what you are getting. Not that I'm distrustful per se, but I realize some shady business does go on.

What I use are 10ml spore solution vials. They have SHIPs and are proper clean.

Edited edit:

Shit is going quick now, possibly harvest tomorrow..

No big fruits so far and don't think there will be any.. no problem though! What do you think about harvest? I thought let it grow a little while and pick everything tonight in a few hours. Seems like they are about done growing for the most part and opening up..

Some of those look like they will get bigger, I would pick the ones that open first and let the rest open more, unless you want spore mess. It does seem like they might have gotten bigger with more mopisture, just from the way the sub looks in the pic and the size of the fruits.

Went ahead and picked them all anyway. Could have harvested over the course of two days maybe, but took them all off, scraped the casing and all aborts off the sub and now dunking the tray for round 2, not sure if necessary, but see the sub has shrunk quite a bit.

Dehydrator run almost done. I dry them at 60 Celsius for 7 hours. Would be 8 hours I think for bigger fruits.

The sub looked very clean and healthy, took off all filth and recased with some fresh vermiculite.

Edit: some pictures of the final stage.

Better dry weight than wet! Wet was probably off because I was weighing more than the scale can handle. Goes only up to 100 gram and had a coffee can lid of 30 grams on it as well.

I am pretty content right now.

The tray was probably fruiting already after two days after dunking and recasing, but only saw the second flush coming through yesterday. The seem to like the sides this time.

They are getting a music treatment right now since I have speakers in the cabinet where I keep the tub on top of. Tub resonates quite a bit, must be like a good party in there.

Wonder if it's a big guy or a quick guy.

Cloned that little fatty and another from a cluster today! Messed some things up again of course like the noob I am but hope it'll become something to work with..

Not sure if a good selection or not, will just have to try. At least it's something to start with!

I used this cheap medical tape to seal them up, they leave a sticky mess after removing it. Never going to use it again and ordering a bunch of parafilm today.

Had these handy boxes left over from all the spores I ordered. Glad I saved them, they hold exactly four petri dishes. Easy to label, store and handle.

I did some cloning myself this week. One from fruit. Then I did two dishes of agar inoculated with a spore syringe. All grew out quick so I cloned them and made more dishes and 3 LC’s. The LC’s are 3 different strains. 2 inoculated with spore, 1 with chunk of heathy growth off agar. So far so good. ec8d262eeee112da880361030d70e476.jpg

Lol. I hate Parafilm, but also after using micropore I said never again. But I'm not using petris so I don't to worry with it yet.

Not in these. But when I need to wrap airtight. I took a roll of Saran Wrap and cut it into 1.5” rolls with my hack saw. They work awesome !! Leave no sticky shit on your dishes, seal perfectly and super secure. Also peel off in one pull when needed.

Just got my parafilm in the mail so we'll see how that works out. @jkdeth why hate parafilm?

Here is a picture of how half of my clones are doing. First time using a scalpel was difficult. Second try went a lot better and got smaller tissue samples in those dishes.

I guess hate is too strong a word. I just don't like extra cutting and stretching and etc, compared to using jars and tiny tubs, and having that step at all. If I had flow hood and actual petri dishes I'd use it.

So the process would go like this:

I'd buy the flow hood, cause I don't like building things that require accuracy in design or construction. So I'd drop $1000 on flow hood and petri dishes, then realize I had no where to use it. So another $2000 to reorganize my entire life such that there was a larger space for the flow hood to live. So now, after dropping 3 grand, throwing my life into turmoil for 6 months, hurting myself at least once moving furniture and multiple arguments with the girlfriend, I would finally get to sit down to an agar run with my nice new stuff. I would progress to the Parafilm stage and after the second dish I'd get frustrated and go buy Saran Wrap. That's why I don't like parafilm.

@jkdeth - I can relate to that 'disasterising' train of thought ...

Third flush today! This flush has the most beautiful fruits so far.

Smaller pin set, sub was probably a bit dry, but bigger fruits. Half of them are around 10 grams wet and a few are 15. Good stuff. Also shaved the fruits in stead of cutting the stem to clean up. Will get some extra weight of those bigger fruits that way!

Will do a last dunk, and one or two flushes and then it's done. Want to see how far it goes without wasting too much time.
