Hey guys this is my first grow and would appriciate any advice. I have 9 1/2 pint cakes, Innoc on January 18th, they were done colonizing around the 5th and sat until the 14th. Was going to go 4 chronic tek and 5 invitro but decided to go for the standard SGFC. Just put them into FC about an hour ago and put around 15-20 CC of water on each one, 10 cc on cake and 10 in the Verm its sitting on and then misted the sides of chamber Got a lamp that with 14w 5k cfl bulbs. Tempature stays about 72F, but jumps between 70F and 75F. The door stays cracked and gets opened enough that there should be plenty of airflow. If work allows it, I'll be misting/fanning at 4:30am, 3:30pm, and 9pm. And will be able to check it around 6pm and fan if need be. I hope this grow does well and stoked about learning more. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions please let me know, thanks!373a27ad81dc6eb6d549b3cc2a706cac.jpg879237f5e92858da70f242bc3c5cb9a0.jpg7aa91e814f14964633c4d371cb6c1788.jpg9775be67496c7a3e1a5b1b25dc735c68.jpgf71e065351737559b23a7ab761ab770f.jpg

Yea the cakes were dunked for 18 hrs and the perlit is damp. Rinsed well to remove dust and put some salt in it. Towels down for any dripping. Done everything by the book do far so fingers crossed. Haha

You should be fine. I just see a tub without some condensation and my "too dry" alert goes off. You probably just took this picture as soon as set up.

Hope so man! I'm stoked about finally making the move and going for a grow. Been probably 10 years since I've seen any cubes. Just a few more weeks!

Yup, and for future grows, make sure to take some spore prints, you'll never have to buy that 'strain' of cube again.

Looks good dude!

Maybe a bit more perlite than needed, but meh, it's not an issue. Also, did you use micropore tape on the holes? Not really an issue either, as the cakes should be pretty resistant to contams at this point, but they could still build up a bit more and you may run into some issues on later flushes. But really, very minor things.

Cakes look very nice, you'll start to see the fruits of your labor in no time! Keep us posted.

Cheers!

Yea I wasnt sure how much to use so I just went with standard 4.5 inches. I didnt put any micropore tape on the holes but thats not a bad idea, havnt thought about that. Thanks for the advice man and I'll be sure to post updates!

You should watch your humidity first. The only reason to micropore tape is if its drying too fast. You're fruiting now, it's not a sterile process. Only things you need to worry about now are humidity and fresh air.

If these cakes did contaminate, it would be because its already there, not because it picks up something new.

I think I'm having an issue with humidity in my FC. Water is drying on the walls after about 4 or 5 hours and the the top of the DEC seems to be drying out rapidly. Only fanning 3 times a day for about 45 seconds and mist a little bit before each fan. I covered about 50% of the holes on the sides and left the top/bottom untouched. Humidity got a bit better but still drying on walls around the row of holes that aren't covered. So I changed the lid last night and it seemed to help, this morning I woke up to most of the walls staying moist but the lid still has no moisture so I dont have to worry about water dropping onto the cakes, not sure If that's good or bad. More updates later. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!f7cad03a70fa4a809969058b6570ad69.jpga87d2479f848ac2a829768c557d4515a.jpg1801c4d59edd4ae097f8bd811a98dd5c.jpg5e6a46010cac2ccddbf6f9bb21ac8ecb.jpg

Yes, a analog cigar oasis , was recommended on a different forum. I set to the other day read accurate( hopefully)and the humidity was staying around 70 75 with all the holes. About 85 90 with the lid with holes and half the sides covered. I'll take another reading when I get home, as I changed the lid for one without holes to see If it will hold more. Temp stays about 72F.
