I always just pluck blobs when I flush the cake. They usually stay good for that long.

Things do seem to be moving slowly though.

I'd let the normal looking pins try and mature before I plucked them all at once, then dunked.

It's much easier to tell if the normal fruits are growing.

I'd go with this

Now that's the input I was hoping to see!

With these going slowly does everyone think a couple of more days to go before a cleaning off of everything?

If they don't double in size by Monday I'd say they are stalled.

I haven't grown cake style for 20 years but when I do a tray I clean everything off between flushes.

Great advice as always from the 'topia community!

I agree with leaving the existing fruits to grow.  May as well get something out of these fruits.

When they are ready, harvest and dunk for the next flush.

They do look dry.  The dunk will take care of this.

As far as the blobs go, that can be your call.  You can leave them and if they start to contam or rot, cut them off the cake.

Otherwise, cut them off now and dry them.  As far as I am concerned, they really don't look like they are harming anything.......yet.

Personally, I like to leave things be, unless there is a problem.

I am so exited to see you have fruits!!  Good work!

Thanks. I feel like a kid in the candy store with a $100 to blow. Thanx for the advice.

Well hell. I just noticed some white stuff around the base of one of my fruits. Why do I have a feeling this is bad? It is not cobweb either. So am I going to have to throw everything away?

A little fuzzy mycelium around the base is pretty common. Post a picture, but I'm pretty sure it's nothing to worry about.

Ok. I have to run for a little while but will be back to post in a few hours. I’ve been sweating bullets.

Probably nothing to worry about.
I'm curious to see how much they have grown.

I think it is mycelium.  Its on the one sticking up.  I saw two veils broken.  I'm going to go ahead and harvest the whole cake because of those questionable blobs.  I'm ready to try my first batch of fresh.  Just waiting for the OK.  I moved my cake and it has some bruising now.

I'd say wait til tonight, 8 hrs makes a big difference at this point, just to let the fruits start ripping the veils, then harvest.

I think theyll grow some more otherwise I'd say harvest now.

Looking good. Congrats on your 1st fruits!

Sweet!

They took off and you'll have fruits of your labor.

I was worried they had stalled but they are just fine.

Way to grow!

I waited until late last night to harvest. Despite seeing some small pins I decided to dunk it. I actually bought some extra vermiculite so I can roll it this time. I got 34 grams off of that cake. Not sure if that is good or not.

Not bad for one cake. It wasn't a stellar flush so you did good on weight.

You doing a fresh smoothie or going to dry them out?

A dunk should make the pins swell and get the second flush going quick, nice job.

I decided to put them in a paper sack in the fridge. Once my other 2 cakes are ready, I am going to have a party and dry what I don’t use. I’m just days away from being able to have 2 more ready to go. I figured dunking and rolling the first cake would help it keep moisture better. Thanks for all the help guys.

If It's going to be more than  a day or two in the fridge I'd just dry them to play it safe.

I'd hate to see them go to mush in the fridge.

Anybody else? Your thoughts on fresh shrooms in the fridge?

I've layered them in paper towels and saved for a day or two. In an open or ventilated container.
