This past grow season, I finally reached a place im cultivating these magical cacti to begin using these things I've been growing.
Now I'm a complete noob to cactus consumption. Honestly when I started growing from seed late 2015 I thought this day would never come.. I have still yet to try a full spectrum brew, and to date have only samlped some Mescaline HCL Ive extracted from one of my Extracts. So even 3.5 years into growing these things I still have so much to learn and experience.
Now being that all my cacti are seed grown and are hybrid crosses; some of some very well known genetics...
How was I to choose which ones to prepare and which ones not to bother with... . .. I didn't wanna prepare a 12+ inch cut and consume it only to be faced with nausea and some bunk cacti. I played this around for many months. Seeing as how I litterly have hundreds of Cacti the only real tangible route was fo learn how to extract there is no way I would be able to physically sample from each cactus..
So i decided to do individual cacti and record the data. This seems feasible in part. While there are many more alkaloids present in cacti that influence and add or subtract from the over all trip; meacaline is the prime alkaloid one seeks when consuming this Medicine. So with a simple extrac t I'll be able to get some hard data as to how much each cross/Plant contains. This way I can have my highest meacaline producing cacti identified for when I decide to move onto a full spectrum brew. At least thats been my crazy way of thinking...
This was my 1st attempt at extracting Mescaline HCL using Kash's A/B tek with a MEK clean up. Reason for choosing this route, it was simple and I had all the needed Chems already at the house for other purposes, and his tek was super simple to follow.
Trichocereus SS02 Bridgesii x Trichocereus Juul's Giant (1.01 Specimen)

-Diameter of Cacti 3.5- 4 Inches thick
-Total combined weight fresh cut:
1150 Grams or 2.535316 Lbs
-Very Bitter taste of cactus (Presence of Alkaloids)
-Cacti was a Trichocereus SS02 Bridgesii x Trichocereus Juul’s Giant (1.01 Specimen) that was seed grown organically in soil. 3.5Years old from seed.

Tip Cutting:
- 1 foot or 12 Inches
-Weight 600 Grams Cutt weight
-Weight 27.5G Dry/Powdered
-Dethroned, cut into cactus stars
-Dried under a fan

Middle Cutting:
-1foot or 12 Inches
-Weight 550 Grams Wet
-Weight 26.5 Grams Dry/Powdered
-Dethorned and cut into Cactus stars
-Dried under a fan

I was a little disappointed in the final dry weight of the harvested cactus. From a whopping 1050 Grams fresh cut all the way down to 43.2 Grams Dried/Powdered

The most time consuming part is making rhe tea. I cooked the cactus pulp for 8 separate water changes then reduced my bulk down to approximately 300ml. This worked perfect in the pickel jar I used at the time (I've sinced moved up to having a decent set od labware)

Pulled with 800ML of Xylene in 4 separate pulls

Then added my water and HCL to crash the salts out into the water solution. This part needs to be followed closely to the tek and test the acidfied water PH to know your in the sweet spot.

Then just evap off your water and your left with your unfinished HCL.

Recovered 0.9 Grams of Mescaline HCL approximately 2.1% Alkaloids in this cacti I've still yet to clean these crystals so total % Will decrease.
