I ordered a couple of bag kits and the kits have arrived before my spores. A significant oversight, methinks.

I have only used BRF cakes in the past and have been reading that it's not the best idea to leave sterilized grain long before inoculation.

The grain is in sealed bags and I put them in the fridge....while I await the spore arrival. Any ideas for how long I can safely wait before inoculation?

and... Is the fridge the best place to keep the grain?

I'm assuming I will want the grain much warmer before I do inoculate.

TIA for any info.....not off to a great start :(

They should be fine. Just make sure you wipe the bag down good with alcohol before you use it. I have let sterilized bags of grain sit for up to a week with no issues. Could last longer. I just never pushed it.
