Howdy Mycoptopians

About once a year I get my A into G and do a grow. Being on the road a lot I typically opt for a version of the Chronic neglect Tek, but using pint BRF cakes fruited in gallon jars.

Sculpture 2.jpg nothing like coming home after a week on the road to a pretty little sculpture like this

I highly recommend this Tek for busy folks, it's a piece o piss & returns nicely.

PF strain.jpg PF Strain (I think... might be GT, I forget)

Thanks guys. The Gods have indeed smiled upon this grow. So far I've harvested 402g fresh off 3 pint cakes, first flush. I don't aim to be greedy about it so I'll likely put the cakes out into my worm compost heap. Who knows what might pop up?

I am brand new to growing, however I should be starting my first PF tek attempt in the next few days. Could I just set a few of my half pint cakes aside and double them up like this as a side experiment? Where do I leave them? Is temp a serious concern? Or is it as simple as the tek name would lead you to believe?

TBH I'd rather stick with the half-pint cakes & get the basics right before embarking on too many trials. Once you have a few successful PF grows in the bag you can go for more complex systems.  The only reason I use this outsize system is because I'm in a pretty remote area in Kenya and getting things like 1/2 pint jars is a mega hassle, so I make do with what I can find. The gallon jars I got from an Italian wholesaler. We ate olives like motherfuckers for months just so I could get the jars for the Chronic Tek. Now my daughter is an olive junky.

The PF Tek is a great way to start. It's important to remember that your temperature & RH will need to change when you switch from colonization to fruiting. Fruiting typically requires lower temp, higher humidity and oxygen in order to occur.
