Throw it in a porous pillow case, jersey knit works well. Done pillow cases don’t drain well enough. You can also use a fine mesh laundry bag...
Put large pot, you can use the PC pot, on stove. Fill with water. Heat water to 160f and let you pillowcase of substrate soak between 169-170f for 4-6 hours.
Presto-changeo... pasteurized substrate!

Most folks are going to tell you to pasteurize (and I agree), but you can achieve success both ways.
I personally think your chances of success are much better with pasteurization.

Also, a very good general rule, is if it a nutrient such as yeast or cornmeal it needs sterilization.
If it is straw, compost or coir, which the nutrients the myc needs to break down then pasteurization is the best

Your very welcome.
I pulled that thread of Eats from the archives. Here is a link to the pasteurization section, there are lots of other good threads on the subject if you want to do some more looking for a method that works for you.

You need to pasteurize it. Mix it 50-50 with coco coir or finely chopped straw, add some vermiculite (I eyeball it but I use less than I did with coir and poo)....
